Well run, great staff and fairly forgiving course
Broodmoor as an overall experience is very good. Value, friendliness, condition, layout, challenge are rated highly
Golf at Broadmoor
Played on 2/22/2022 and course from tee to green was in great shape. I played with another gentleman but after I made a par on the first two holes he told me that I could go on ahead so played as a single for sixteenth holes and finished in less than three hours. There are no house's on the course and it is also a links course. The greens rolled true and ran around a 9. I will definitely play there again when in the Asheville area.
Enjoyed a February Spring Saturday
Great Course will try and play it every time I am in the area!!!!!!!!!
Nice Winters Day
The golf course was in good shape for the middle of January. We were there about a week after a snow storm and we could take cart on the fairway. Love the layout. The staff is always good and all things considered I think it’s a good value.
Winter golf at it's best
1 week after a record snowfall and freezing temps I was surprised that the course was in such good condition, even though the traps and a few of the shaded tee boxes were still blanketed with snow. Chilly but sunny day and greens not very receptive but still rolled true. Unfortunately got behind a couple of slow foursomes but still finished the round in just over 4 hours. Kudos to the staff for keeping the course opened and playable in tough conditions.
Broadmoor Arden NC
Course had been over seeded so fairways were in good shape for ball striking even in Winter weather conditions. More of a flat course rather than a mountain course. Easy to walk if you want.
Nice challenging layout.
Back 9 caught fire
Challenging but fun track. 39 on the front with some tough holes. Back 9 -4 opened up enough to hit driver.
Dude at check in was a dud but paired up with 2 great guys. Told we where to hit and where the trouble was. Overall, nice track and fun round
Course too wet from irrigation
Played course on 12/03 with an early tee time...
We are in the midst of a moderate drought and the sprinklers were operating when I got to the course. We haven't had any substantial rain for a few weeks so I understand the need for watering the course. But based on the amount of standing water on some of the tee boxes, fairways, and greens it appears they over watered the course. One tee box was on the back was so wet you couldn't find relief within the 2 club length limit.
On the plus side, the greens were very receptive so we fired at every pin. The greens rolled true and were still tricky to get the speed/line just right. Despite the water, fairways were in excellent condition.
Grounds crews were perfectly tuned in to quieting their mowers when we were close by. Chuck in the pro shop and Bob the starter are very personable and did a great job of getting us out on time.
My buddy and I were paired with a single golfer that's very new to the game. I can play golf with anyone cause I'm very outgoing and like meeting new people. I have "mentored" many newcomers as a way of passing along what was shared with me. The single we were paired with was very outgoing and pleasant to be around.
Nonetheless, I must say to all of you that are new to this great game, please take the time to learn proper etiquette on the course. Things like: don't take practice swings or talk while someone else is preparing to hit a shot, don't cast your shadow on your playing partners line of putts, don't step in someone's line on the green, and don't take more than a couple practice swings. Please don't over think each shot cause "analysis is paralysis" and it causes tension in the body and mind. Most importantly, be ready to play when it's your turn and always have an extra ball in your pocket in case you need to hit a provisional shot. Lastly, please spend time on the range to learn how to swing a club before you go out on the course, it will be of great benefit to all of us.
Golf is the game of a lifetime, it shouldn't take a lifetime to play!
Always good
Greens are always beautiful and the course is in great shape as usual. Probably the best public range facilities in the Asheville / Hendersonville area.
Love this course.
