Golfer Reviews
Rough rough and cart paths
Not being a good golfer I found myself in the rough often. Even just a foot into it made finding your ball difficult. It has to be 4-6 inches deep. If I found it, trying to hit out was difficult.
Better golfers won’t have this problem.
Stay in the Fairway!
Ok, so before we went to Eagles Pointe, I read a review that (I thought sarcastically) said "keep your ball in the fairway as you'll lose it in the rough.". Well... Duh, right? But honestly, no joke, there is something about the height of this rough or conditions of the grass where I swear, it was harder to find an errant ball than I've ever experienced. I mean, you could be standing right in front of it and not see it. In fact it happened to us several times, and only walking around to another view revealed a treasure (or someone else's... We weren't the only ones!).
We played nine as the heat index was intense. Pace was completely self governed as we didn't see anyone else the whole time. Afternoons there are apparently pretty light. The stagnant air brought out the bugs, so would recommend some bug spray on similar days. The course was fun, challenging enough for our average skill set. Staff was friendly.
If you're looking for a strong value solid experience, Eagles Pointe is a great option! Pack a few extra balls in the bag! Ha!
The coarse could improve on the conditions of cart path
The layout is good and enjoyed the friendly customer service. I was surprised no cart girl as it was out .
Course is really gone downhill in the last couple of months
Rainy Day Golf
Had not played this course in a couple of years due to poor conditions. Course has greatly improved. Course was cart path only due to rain. Made the round longer than usual. The rough was too tall. Took a lot of time to locate a ball that barely missed the fairway. Hopefully they will get some mowing done when dried out. I do plan to return soon to look for more improvements
Yearly Vacation Golf
Eagles Pointe is always on our short list for golf in Hilton Head while we are on vacation. The course is challenging and fun to play. The pace was good even though they were pretty booked. Scott at the pro shop gave us great tips about the course. Highly recommend for off-island golf. We'll be back!
Course was Great
The staff were great. The starter is always so nice!! The greens are in awesome condition!
Really nice course for the money
Great course in Bluffton. Wide forgiving fairways. Greens were ok for the most part. There was a little crab grass on the green but none too horrible. The staff was incredible and super helpful. The views on the course were beautiful. And water on every hole add a nice challenge making you pay for errant shots.
Disappointing
Played here earlier in the year and, though a few rough spots, had an enjoyable experience. This one, not so much. Course was in very poor shape. Greens were slow and bumpy, sand bunkers had none. Maintenance staff on the course seemed to be oblivious to players trying to get through.
Starter Marshall
Starter keeps pushing us until we was on top of multiple groups to the point I just took the cart back and left. Could have had us mixed up with another group, multiple time idt is a mess up. but had pushed us till we was turning nine is Less than a hour with a group of 3.
A nice round playing golf
I've played Eagles point golf course
3-4 times this year. I like the layout
Of the course and is in good shape. Bunkers
could Use some work. The staff is great and very
Helpful. Good value for money.
On Pointe
A typical Low Country course winding through the trees with water, some deep rough and hard packed bunkers. Everything was in good shape: trees, fairways and greens. Last were surprisingly good given recent reviews. Helpful staff including starter who got me early ahead of a tournament. Fine clubhouse and pro shop. Recommend.
*Cart paths are indeed rough. Drive accordingly.
Course was in good shape with greens moderate slow.
I play a lot of golf in HH and would say for the price you won’t go wrong playing E.P.
Eagles point
The fairways, greens and tee boxes were in great condition. The bunkers are hard as ro ks and need
Work. The starter/ranger was extremely annoying. He keep telling us to speed up the pace of play but we could no as there were 2 4-somes ahead of us
We were literally waiting to tee off on almost every hole
