Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Get the greens in shape

Beautiful layout! Greens are bumpy and need TLC. The fairways need work also. Sand traps good shape. The design and views are the reason I return. Staff is excellent.

Lots of Hazards

Good test of Golf, lots of sand and water, par 5s are challenging. GPS on carts worked great. Finished 1 hour behind due to slow play. No evidence of a slow play management was observed.

Course in awful condition

It is very sad that the course was in such horrible condition. The layout was absolutely amazing, but has not been maintained. It is way too expensive.

Course conditions

Very poor conditions for its reputation. Dry fairways front nine greens were poor and patchy.

Cart paths had portions missing that should be paved over.

All in all not a great experience, Arnold Palmer would likely remove his name from this course if he saw it now!

Great layout, but needs some TLC

You can feel the potential in this course, but I feel it needs some significant maintenance to bring it back to a Hilton Head course. My family is staying on another course but wanted to try to save some money...we would have been better off spending the extra money for the fairway and green conditions that our home course had.
