Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links

I was excited to play this track for the first time. I try a different course each time we visit the area. Glen Dornach has 4 to 5 scenic holes, but the rest of the course was rather uninteresting.

The conditions were just ok.

There were a few things I would improve for a course charging $150 a round.

First- include range balls at this price point, especially since you don't let your guest drive a cart to the range. There is cart parking next to the range, but instead the course is requiring guest to carry their clubs, and balls they paid for, about 150 yards from the cart pickup.

Second- The bag drop process was very unorganized.

The Marshalls wouldn't let you get on a cart upon arrival, making you wait until 5 min before your tee time. One older white gentleman with a brace was shouting orders to another marshall, and was rather rude during interactions with guest. He was acting as if he was in charge, but it was a disaster and very uninviting. I was told multiple times not to touch my bag, and upon asking multiple times what cart to get on / was told to wait over there. I have never felt so uncomfortable waiting for a cart.

Worst of all, we didn't get sent out until right at our tee time. The group ahead of us were already leaving the first green when we pulled up to the tee box, on a PAR 5!

Third- improve your carts. $150 round, can we not get a cooler mounted for our beverage purchases? Where are the sand jugs? The fairways were lined with divots but golfers aren't even provided an option to fill divots.

Our cart had water logged inside the roof.

Literally we listened to watering slushing around above our heads all day. Marshall's should be on top of that and reporting for maintenance.

If I played here again (probably won't), I would play back a tee box. Even though I shot my normal score, I was challenged with many awkward distances playing from whites.

What a beautiful course! Nothing bad about this course at all. The staff were friendly, helpful and fun. They were prepping for the tournament taking place the following week. I will most definitely be playing there again when I come back down to these parts.

Golf Course Review

Overall, the course was in pretty good shape and I enjoyed the round. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and I really appreciated that several staff members were coming around with water throughout the day, especially on such a hot day.

My only real complaint was the pace of play—it was a little slower than I would have liked. The greens were also a bit on the slow side and could have been rolling faster. Other than those issues, the course was in good condition and I would definitely play here again.

I played here a year or so ago and the person I got hooked up with said his son plays golf all over the area and this is one of his favorites. I enjoyed it and that’s why I went back yesterday. I recommend it for sure.

This course is a lot of fun with plenty of scoring opportunities. The course was in excellent condition and the entire staff was friendly and helpful.

This is a great course with challenging holes and great views. But they were running with 8 minute tee times which put too many players on the course for this level of difficulty. We waited on every shot on every hole so it was an extremely slow and long round of golf.

Great layout. Narrow but fair. Five and a half hour round

Spectacular golf course. Under-rated gem. My favorite course in Myrtle Beach. And l didn’t shoot a good score.

Overall the course was enjoyable to play except for the last couple of holes which felt like they ran out of room and just crammed them in the best way they could. They did not fit well with the rest of the course and ultimately took away from the overall experience. Green speeds were not uniform at all either throughout the entire course. Some were fast and some were slow which made putting more difficult than it should have been.

The course was in great shape, staff extremely friendly, it is a challenging layout though bring your A game, Also bring your camera the course is very picturesque

Always one of my favorites. Never disappoints. It is in good shape again this year.
