Long Bay Club
About
The Long Bay Club boasts a Jack Nicklaus Signature design that is consistently ranked as one of the top golf courses in South Carolina, a major accomplishment when you're competing with golf destinations such as Hilton Head and Kiawah Island. The landscape showcases the beauty of the Lowcountry with forests of pines, dogwoods, and maple trees divided by clear blue streams. The golf course design closely mimics the natural contours of the terrain but there are also countless large, man-made mounds that were seamlessly sculpted into the surroundings. It is considered one of the toughest golf courses on the Grand Strand. Golfers will face numerous bunkers that are seemingly bottomless as well as vast waste areas. The signature hole is the par-4 10th, which features a u-shaped waste area that completely surrounds the fairway and then crosses in front of the elevated, contoured green.

Great experience
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The clubhouse and bar was well stocked. The course was in great shape and very tough. I would definitely play here again.
Nice Beach Course
Course was in good shape
Monday round after rain had water in some bunkers but nothing terrible. Waste areas needed a little TLC but we are from the Pinehurst area so tough critic on that.
We played the day before a greens aeration so slow greens. Overall good course for the cost.
Very Friendly staff, Nice greens
Staff was very friendly. Weather was not great but was able to get a rain check for the second nine. Course was in good shape.
Fairways & greens really good.
Maybe because I shot so well but course was in fantastic shape. Fairways were plush & green & greens ran true with great speed to the pin. Always loved layout & staff was friendly & helpful. Will be playing again soon👍🏻👍🏻
Great course not in water restrictions yet
Conditions were great, layout is challenging, rough is thick in places around the green, greens were receptive and true but a touch slow. Overall great experience, and will be back next year!
Has lost its luster.
Played this course years ago when fresh and in great condition. Just has deteriorated over the years. Number 10 feature hole good example. Still has picture on scorecard of pristine bunkers lining fairway. Not almost gone. Still a good layout and decent. Just ain't what she used to be.
WYSISWYG - A solid layout with a few signature holes
Pace of play - awesomeness!
Friendly Staff
Great facility
Traditional course with a few signature holes like island green and waste bunker and moguls throughout
Incredible Nicklaus Experience
From the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome. A nice warm up and some putting later the starter found me and said that the front was full and to start on the back. I played all 18 in just over 3 hours having joined another twosome on the front.
The course is challenging but fair and the conditions were wonderful. Not perfect but just below. The island green is truly a challenge to behold. Playing 130 from the whites I managed a par and walked off smiling.
Overall I would play this course again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it. Special thanks to Jan and Wendell who let me join up with them on my back - awesome company just added to the special round I enjoyed!
Best Course I have played
The course was by far the best bang for the buck. Fair course for the average player. Beautiful course.
It's Been Awhile
It's been close to 30 years since I last played Long Bay. I was paired with 3 wonderful people. All of us understood the revitalization work that's being done on the course. We had no serious problems with all of the sod replacements. If we ended up in the sod, we just picked up, dropped and played on. I can't wait to return and see final revitalization work completed.
I love the layout of the course.
I very disappointed with the condition.
It is obvious it has been let go for quite some time.
It is encouraging to see all of the work being done to improve the condition of the course, but no way it is worth the full cost of green fees in the present condition.
Nice Course for Advanced Golfers
This course is extremely long and challenging for duffers.
Yough on Old-timers
This vis a beautiful, well laid- out course, lots of sand and water. Too difficult for someone of my limited abilities.
