Ever since it debuted in 2003 and started earning raves for being one of Northwest Florida's premier courses. This semi-private layout is the star amenity of an 800-acre residential development that touches Choctawhatchee Bay. Robert C. Walker, formerly the lead architect of Arnold Palmer's design company, laid out Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club amidst a nature preserve near the south shore of the bay. While you'll feel the breezes as you play this stalwart of Florida's Emerald Coast region, the water views during the round are of the wetlands, streams and manmade lakes that lend beauty and challenge to the game here. Plenty of trees, bulkheads lining the hazards and bright white sand in the predominantly shallow bunkers add extra aesthetic panache when you play at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club. With so much water and trouble all around, you'll need to execute numerous forced carries on your drives and approach shots. A couple of holes feature island-like fairways.
Regatta Bay Golf and Yacht Club delivers a classic brand of Florida target-style golf, though it's a challenge everyone can enjoy. Moderately skilled players will be relieved that some of the hazards and shot prospects seem more intimidating than they really are. The game at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club comes to a crescendo finish. On the tricky par-4 16th you must avoid the water on the left and the marsh that crosses the fairway. While the redesigned 17th may be a drivable par 4 for long hitters, for most players the primary task is executing a forced-carry tee shot over water that finds the fairway in a spot short of the bunkers that intercede before the green. The finishing hole at Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is a reachable ball 5 that hooks around a large lake with the green tucked hard by the hazard. It's the last test of a day of golf filled with strong and intriguing holes.
The club's extensive practice facilities include a golf academy with a canopy cover and a nice clubhouse with a lakefront restaurant that's ideal for winding down after your game. It's no wonder that Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club is such a popular place to play in golf-rich Destin.

Friendliest starter ever!
Beautiful course! Can’t believe this is public! A little pricey but range balls included. Starter is possibly the friendliest human I have ever met. He led us to the range and gave us a course overview before we started. Fantastic experience! Will definitely come back!
Top-Shelf Course and Facilities
Regatta Bay never disappoints! It is expensive but it is worth it. The course is incredible. It makes you feel like you’re playing a PGA quality venue.

Tee prep for player’s
I played Regatta three days this week,the pairing of players wasn’t very good I’m a 20 handicap 63 year old and I was paired with young players who were black tee players shooting under par and I felt like I was rushing through the whole game which caused my score to be over 100 when I usually shoot in the mid 80-90, after paying such a price to play I thought the Marshall could do better at pairing the team , other than that it was a good time

Pairings are based on booked-in-advanced tee times, not skill level. For future rounds as a single player with a preference for skill-based pairings, we recommend you not book a tee time in advance and instead just walk-in. That would give our Starter some flexibility on pairings and we would try, but couldn't ever guarantee, to work you into a pairing more aligned with your h'cap and skill level.

Delightful Golf Round
My brother and I teed off at 1115 on a Thursday and had an extremely enjoyable golf round. I wish Regatta was less expensive, but all aspects of conditioning met expectations. Kyle at the bag drop area is an excellent agent for the establishment, setting the tone for what was to come. I'm pretty sure it was JZ that engaged me before the round and was a bit modest about conditions; we were well pleased from A to Z. It'd be nice to hit off grass vs. mats to warm up. I was glad we got a hot deal and hope to return soon!

The layout of the course is perfect. You can make it tough or you can make it easier. The conditions were great and the people were as nice as they could be.

Very nice course. a bit pricey
This is a really well kept course. Plenty of trouble but not a super difficult course. Perfect mixture of fun yet challenging holes. 17 is a fun risk, reward short par 4. Would recommend.
One thing I learned, I booked my time a few weeks ahead and paid about $240 including GolfNow fees. Had 2 playing partners. One booked the night before, also on GolfNow, and paid approximately half of what I did. So much for planning ahead. 3rd person in the group had the round included with the property he was staying at.

very slow
They started us off the back 9 and it was packed, tee box, fairway, green, every hole. 4.5 hours to play 15 holes and would have taken another 2 for sure.

Great course!
I played this course when it opened in 1998, I remember liking the course so played it again. Played on a Friday afternoon, pace of play was surprisingly good. Course was in great condition, greens are challenging, but not unfairly fast.
