Camelback Golf Club - Ambiente Course

This is a Scottsdale course that has been around for a long time. It was in excellent condition, especially considering the hot summer we just finished (it is October). Most of the greens have a lot of undulations and if you want to post a good score bring your 'A' game with your approach shots and putter. The fairways are ample but don't miss them as the penalty for doing so is often severe. Staff and facilities are great. If you appreciate good golf courses you will like this one.

Ambiente is always fun to play. It is a great design with a good variety of holes. It almost has a links fel to it, with the wispy grass along the bunkers and the lack of trees coming into play. The pace was a little slow and it was actually the longest round of the year for me, about 4 hours 45 minutes. The course was in great shape, although it was cart path only because Scottsdale got over 3 inches of rain the day before.

This course has great letter boxes fairways and greens. Staff is friendly. But the course is the ugliest course ever. Also if your ball isn’t on the fairway then you lose your ball. The fescue is here horrendous. It’s like the plopped a course in a marsh and called a country club lol you can dozens of more gorgeous fun course that hard but won’t cost you balls or stokes for no reason. I’ll never play here again.

This was my second time playing this course and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great layout - lots of fun - with some shorter par 4's thrown in for intermediate golfers like me. Course was in great shape - especially for summer - so kudos to the grounds staff. Added bonus are the wonderful views from several holes. Will definitely play here whenever I can.

Had a 6:30am tee time on Ambiente, the course was soaked from the sprinkler system. According to a person I played with this is how they water the course on a daily basis. Driver shots plugged a few times as a result. Also bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. All noted drinking water spots on the scorecard served hot water that was only good for wetting your golf towel. Since it was an early round, only seen the cart girl once on the back nine. Greens were slow, sandy and fuzzy due to recent aerification.

I very much enjoyed the layout at this course. However, the greens had recently been punched so putting was almost impossible. The fairways and tees were in ok condition but not yet recovered completely from overseeding. They were MUCH better than Legend Trail and TPC Champions courses which I also played within the last week.

Pace of play was awful. There was one group that had 3 open holes but no ranger to speed them up.

Perfect pace of play and the course is in great conditions. Greens had been punched several weeks ago but had recovered well. Lovely day to play!

It was very very hot, but they had ice in the cooler so you could cool off with a towel! Slow play with backup but the Marshall got it going quickly! The only bad thing was there was lots of distance from the golf cart to the tee box & greens with elevation that made it very difficult with the heat but otherwise good course! Will play in cooler weather 108 was tough!

The Ambiente course was fun to play, but the greens were phenomenal. They were fast and true. The best greens I have played in Arizona!
