Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
About
Las Colinas is one of two championship golf courses at Mission Inn Resort. It is less challenging than the other course, El Campeon, but both provide enjoyable and unique rounds. Las Colinas sprawls across gently rolling hills with elevation changes that are less startling than those found throughout the older El Campeon course. Twisted oak hammocks and a sprinkling of lush pines accent Las Colinas. The golf course has an inland links layout that boasts wide-open, forgiving fairways and large, receptive greens. There is an interesting variety of risk/reward opportunities as well as a few forced carries. The course has many player-friendly features but its classic architecture does call for a fair amount of accuracy, especially on its signature hole, the par-5 12th. Nicknamed "Alligator Alley," this 493-yard hole features a winding, tree-lined fairway.

Golfer Reviews
Traps need work. Pace of play extremely slow.
Overall the course is in great shape, the greens, fairways and tee boxes are very well maintained. The sand traps however, are a different story.. Due to a recent rain (2 days earlier) there was standing water in almost every trap. Those without water were hard pan, packed down, giving an almost cement consistency. It appeared to us that additional sand is needed in most traps. Sand levels were low even if they would have raked, to soften them up... Which they did not! This is not what one would expect from a classy course with an outstanding reputation.
Regarding pace of play: It is understood that the pace of play is not the fault of the golf course. However, what could be improved is to employ a Ranger out on the course to keep the pace moving. No Ranger was seen on the course throughout our, just short of five hour round. We waited several minutes on every tee box, and we were a foursome, behind a two-some, with another two-some in front of them....go figure.
Poor staff
Staff here are no goood. Second tee time of day scheduled and let another group go before us. THANKFULLY they werent slow. Only course I’ve played at in over 40 courses that yelled at me for hitting other colored ranged balls because I didn’t buy it from them was there response to why I couldn’t use them lol. Will not play here again only time it’s worth it is golf now and they only offer 730 tee times to golf now they do not want golf now people playing there course why even offer it.
ONE THE BEST IV PLAYED
FIRST TIME PLAYED LOS COLINS COURSE VERY IMPRESSED SISTER COURSE EXCELLENT LAYOUT BEAUTIFUL GREENS AND JUST AS NICE FAIRWAYS THIS WAS A TREAT TO PLAY ONE OF THE BEST I PLAYED THIS YEAR
First time on las Colinas
Played Cameron a few times and really like it but wanted to try something new. Reviews made it sound like fairways would be a bit wider but they really aren’t in most holes. Several blind tee shots and a layout of a few holes were not as good as I hoped.
As always the staff at Mission Inn are awesome and it was overall a great experience and I’ll give this course another try.
Las Colinas
Love the layout. Challenging course. Unfortunately, it had been aerated and top dressed which we were not informed about when booking the round.
A Little Disappointed
Really like this course and when playing with others that are out of town MI is one of the 3 or 4 places I recommend.
Green very recently punched (which happens this time of year) when booking no mention or alert of this course condition. Greens just starting to recover - had more sand on the greens than the bunkers. Not very happy I would have passed on playing this weekend.
Tee boxes on 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 18, 17, 16 just trash. For this place you just got to say - you got one job grow grass - what’s the problem. Just looks neglected.
My other 3 players really gave me a lot of crap. Not happy camper.
Worth playing
I usually play El Campeon there but chose this one and wasn’t disappointed with it. It’s mostly lined with trees for the whole course. It doesn’t have the views of El Campeon though. Greens were slow but in perfect shape.
Great course at offseason price
I love this course and at this time of the year you can get a great deal.
Las Colinas
Course in great condition. Hole 14 is quirky but the rest of the layout is very good. Some of the best greens in this area.
