The Plantation Golf Club - Otter Creek Course
About
The Plantation at Leesburg offers two championship courses, the Cranes Roost Course and the Otter Creek Course. The Otter Creek Course features an interesting layout that is wide open on the front nine, while the back nine is rife with towering trees. Situated on hilly terrain, the golf course features gently rolling fairways and the medium-sized greens have some slight undulations. As its name suggests, a creek flows through the golf course and comes into play on several holes throughout. The semi-private Plantation at Leesburg provides two excellent golf courses, but they also feature a practice facility and staff of golf professionals to help players of all skill levels.

Couldn't be more disappointCouldn't be more disappointed
Pictures look decent online. The price wasn't cheap so I thought it would be at least a decent course. I don't think I've ever played a course in worst condition in my life. There was no warning whatsoever. Even it has to be at some point better because it couldn't be worse. I've never seen anything like it. It should have been $10 for the round at that much of a discount due to the conditions and they should have been up front but it was the most disappointing I've ever been of course in my life and I've played a lot of golf. Just embarrassing is what it was. We didn't even finish..
It’s a hard no
Not sure you could call this a golf course. There isn’t 3blades of grass on this golf course.
There are a few greens that are nice, but that doesn’t make a golf course.
The fairways are way too narrow and the layout would not be fun even if there was grass .
The staff after taking our money handed us a golf cat key and we were on our own.
We had trouble finding our way around.
This was the worst golf experience I have ever had in Florida.
Has gotten worse
This couse is barely worth 25$. I've been to otter multiple time when I've been desperate enough to play. To think they would charge over 60 dollars for this is absolutely insane. I only came back because a staff member told me to return in a few months because they hired someone that knew what he was doing. Thats not what happened. The back 9 was the only thing that kind of made it worth it to play but now the conditions are getting worse while the front 9 continues to be unplayable. Barely any green to putt on and the fairways barely has playable grass. Its unfortunate really because the layout is enjoyable.
I live in the area and play all around leesburg, lady lake and clermont. DO NOT pay full price for this and go anywhere else around here. this is for sure the worst course around for the price.
Interring course
Course was in bad condition. Could be because of the harsh winter. The layout of the course was good.
I was shocked on the course conditions
I had high hopes when I booked this golf course. First issue was on my way to the course. There’s a back entrance (which my GPS sent me to) that you need a key card to get in so I had to back track around to get to the main entrance. The fairways were littered with leaves, multiple bare spots with hard pan all over. The greens were quick but a lot of them have this grass rot thing going on. For only being $40 this place was still horrible. If you’re a once in a while golfer, than maybe this isn’t too bad for you. If you okay 3-4 times a week you’ll be disgusted and disappointed.
1st time here and got it off my never played list
1st time here and last. The course has its quirks and has some awesome holes. The lat out on a few of them were out standing till you got to the unplayable greens. They were a mess. You could not putt. I have to say if the told us that I may have been better and ready for the mess.
Otter Creek
The greens has been sanded but they were okay. The tee boxes were just a little spotty but they were okay. The fairways were a little spotty but they were okay. The ruff was very thick do to the result of the rain but it was playable. I would recommend this course.
Interesting layout
I enjoyed the layout and general conditions. The greens are a little slow, but typical in this heat. Watched a mama raccoon and her half grown youngster watching us. Had a good day.
Otter creek is…. Rough
Feels like they kind of forgot about this course….? Tee boxes were rough, and greens were just overgrown or with a bunch of bare spots. #3 now has a temp green but they couldn’t even do a decent cut on it to make it a decent putt area so you are better off taking a 2 putt on it.
$29 but conditions beg to different for the price as it’s playing like a $10 course.
The course is slowly coming back in shape
Some of the fairways have bare spots. The greens are getting there, although I was the first out and the greens were not yet cut, therefore a bit slow. Like the layout of the course, particularly the Otter Revenge holes.
Course in rough shape.
Front nine was unplayable. No grass on fairway or greens. Almost left after nine holes. Back nine was better but still not good.
Just OK
The greens were in tough shape, fairways not very well manicured but ok. The carts and staff were nice. Not a big fan of the course itself. It does have a few nice holes but is narrow and I hate when greens are so bad.
