The Plantation Golf Club - Otter Creek Course

About
The Plantation at Leesburg offers two championship courses, the Cranes Roost Course and the Otter Creek Course. The Otter Creek Course features an interesting layout that is wide open on the front nine, while the back nine is rife with towering trees. Situated on hilly terrain, the golf course features gently rolling fairways and the medium-sized greens have some slight undulations. As its name suggests, a creek flows through the golf course and comes into play on several holes throughout. The semi-private Plantation at Leesburg provides two excellent golf courses, but they also feature a practice facility and staff of golf professionals to help players of all skill levels.

1st time here and got it off my never played list
1st time here and last. The course has its quirks and has some awesome holes. The lat out on a few of them were out standing till you got to the unplayable greens. They were a mess. You could not putt. I have to say if the told us that I may have been better and ready for the mess.
Otter Creek
The greens has been sanded but they were okay. The tee boxes were just a little spotty but they were okay. The fairways were a little spotty but they were okay. The ruff was very thick do to the result of the rain but it was playable. I would recommend this course.
Interesting layout
I enjoyed the layout and general conditions. The greens are a little slow, but typical in this heat. Watched a mama raccoon and her half grown youngster watching us. Had a good day.
Otter creek is…. Rough
Feels like they kind of forgot about this course….? Tee boxes were rough, and greens were just overgrown or with a bunch of bare spots. #3 now has a temp green but they couldn’t even do a decent cut on it to make it a decent putt area so you are better off taking a 2 putt on it.
$29 but conditions beg to different for the price as it’s playing like a $10 course.
The course is slowly coming back in shape
Some of the fairways have bare spots. The greens are getting there, although I was the first out and the greens were not yet cut, therefore a bit slow. Like the layout of the course, particularly the Otter Revenge holes.
Course in rough shape.
Front nine was unplayable. No grass on fairway or greens. Almost left after nine holes. Back nine was better but still not good.
Just OK
The greens were in tough shape, fairways not very well manicured but ok. The carts and staff were nice. Not a big fan of the course itself. It does have a few nice holes but is narrow and I hate when greens are so bad.
Good round
Course was in decent condition. The greens need a lot of work as there were only a few that were perfect. Other than that it’s a good course and in pretty decent shape otherwise.
Gigantic waste of time
Fairways are rough. Greens are sandy and in poor condition, tee boxes had grass higher than my tee height. 3 of 18 holes in good condition, the rest was garbage. Took 30 mins at pro shop just to be checked in, no bev sales, no cart girl. Save yourself the terrible experience, go elsewhere
Lying phone / person.
2/23/25. we booked a foursome. on Sunday when we asked on the phone about the course of auto Creek the lady said oh it’s been redone and I asked her why the 25% off and she replies by saying well we’re trying to get people to come back to the course because it was redone so they can enjoy the course so low on how we show up on Sunday morning to force some ask the young lady at the pro shop at 8:15 teatime. so we’re getting 25% off because the course has been redone. She said yes well we get to the first T we get to the first green and it was a total lie. The course was so bad we decided to quit after the first night, I don’t know why they have to lie at the pro shop to get you to come in. Why don’t they be honest about the conditions of the course anyway we took pictures to show the proof of this course. It should’ve been $15 instead of $43 we won’t be back on this course for a while and we be telling our other friends not to come here.
My foursome expected more for the money spent on the green fee. Fairways were very thin and several greens were in poor condition. Sand bunkers and tee boxes were nice. Layout was challenging. Could be an excellent course with better conditioning. Maybe in another month or so when the fairways grow out. Enjoyed the round despite the weather conditions which were extremely windy and a couple of showers.
Pleasant day on the course
Front nine course conditions still need work, but the back nine is looking good.
Joined up with three fellows from Canada. Thoroughly enjoyed the round.
Plantation at Leesburg Golf Club
Overall, the course layout was good. I player the ‘Otter Creek’ which is one of two courses. The first nine was set up with tight fairways. This nine also had sparse fairways and greens. The second nine was in great shape and some challenging layouts. I would like to play this course again in the summer to see if conditions have improved.
Getting better
Haven't played here for a few years because of terrible conditions. I know they closed it down for several months to fix the problems and I was impressed with the work they have done on the back nine. Greens on the front nine need some work now
