Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run

Mediocre golf course. Decent condition but nothing special. Would not go back or recommend to friends.

Staff was very friendly, and while the round took about 4:40 to complete it wasn't horrible for a mid-day start time. Course was in good condition, the aerated greens are mostly healed and do roil well. First time playing, and would absolutely play again. There are a couple holes with tighter tee shots, but that is not the norm when looking down the fairway. You won't regret taking the time to go play. As an fyi, range balls are an additional cost to the green fee

The condition of the grass in all places is pure. The staff and other folks around are very friendly and engage in conversation.

Beer was a little high for my taste but it’s in a huge gated community so it was to be expected.

Still 5/5 I’d go back every day.

Friendly staff, pace of play was great. Open Fairways, not a ton of rough. Greens roll fast. Course was in great condition.

Beautiful location. Fairways overall good. Greens a little rough but recently punched I believe.

We really enjoyed the layout of the course and the staff was awesome. The pace of play was ok on the front nine but we caught the groups that were slowing the whole course down so the pace on the back nine was awful. A threesome behind us quit with 3 holes to go.

The bunkers were hard as rock so you couldn't take a normal sand swing or your club would bounce and line the ball over the green. The greens were also in rough shape. Slow and the ball wouldn't roll but rather wobble to the hole.

This course was a good option to the expensive Hilton Head fair. The rough was quite long making it hard to see a ball until you were right on top of it. Many of the cups were frayed as if the pins hadn't been moved in a while. Overall though, it was better than the other courses we played.

Layout was good. The greens were air rated showing marks on the greens. The holes were frayed around the cup.

The course was in good condition and the staff was very friendly. The pace of play was slow. There was a group of young guys playing from the blue tees that should not have been playing from those tees. They barely hit the ball to the green tees. They were looking for balls all the time. They were slow to tee off. We had finished putting and they had not teed off. I don’t think anyone in front held them up.

We mentioned this when we came in. We were told that there was a college reunion group. I guess there’s no one monitoring the course to keep pace of play on track.

Got there early the bag man was waiting, checked in and the person in the pro shop could not have been nicer,said your early hit a bag of balls. The starter was nice and gave out some tidbits of info. We were the first group out the starter said you guys set the pace for the day. The tee boxes were a little beat up not all just 3 or 4, the greens had been air rated a week or so ago still a little bumpy should be perfect next week, fairways were great. Nice cart lady, played in 4 hours not rushing as the group behind us was never seen. The price could be better but Hilton head is expensive, I would play here again
