Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run
About
Jack Nicklaus designed the golf course at the Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run. The 18-hole, public course is touted as having one of the best layouts in the area. The par-72 course offers 7,014 yards of challenging and fun golf. Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run's design emphasizes strategy rather than power. Sand and water hazards add interest to the course. In addition to providing a great game of golf, the course also has picturesque scenery with the many oaks and pines that snake though the course. It has been named one of America's Top 100 Courses priced under $100.

Golfer Reviews
Very good course
They aerated the greens recently, which made them bumpy, but that is expected. What was odd was that they Armoralled the golf carts. Every plastic surface was oily and slippery. I don't know who the genius was who thought this was a good idea on a humid summer day when my hands were already sweaty, but it was ridiculous: I slipped every time I stepped in and out of the cart, and I slipped all over the seats whenever you turned or stopped.
Great Course
Golden bear offers a lovely local rate that can not be beat. Course is in great shape for the price.
Excellent course!!
My siblings and I were in on vacation and thought the course and staff were excellent. Course has a beautiful design, and friendly to play overall. Only thing is pace, very busy course. We got told we were 15 minutes behind, but the people in front of us didn’t play the back and we caught up to next group in two holes, finished in 4 hours and change.
Great Course - Great Value
I took my 3 kids (ages 10, 8, & 6). We teed off in late afternoon so to not interfere with regular play. They have a junior program where your greens fee for junior golfers is the age of the kid. The gentleman in the clubhouse was awesome and let me rebook my tee time to save money since I booked through golf now.
The course was in great shape. Greens were rolling true and receptive to approach shots. The fairways were wide but required some thinking of placement and direction since several tee boxes have trees hanging over them or in front of them. I played the black tees so maybe it’s different from blues or whites. I will definitely be back again.
Wonderful Hilton Head course
We had a fantastic time at the course. Everything was top notch from the staff to course and amenities themselves. The fairways were in great shape and the trees lining the fairways would sneak themselves into play. Bunkers were in great shape and well placed. The starters recommendations were spot on. We never felt crowded or rushed. The greens were perfect. They were accessible without the impression of feeling as if they were trying hard. If you enjoy golf this course is well with the price and an absolute steal with the golfnow hot deal.
Good value, nice track
Grabbed 18 with my 11 year old while on vacation. Staff was super friendly and gave us some balls to hit on their very nice range. The course was in decent to very good shape with several really pretty holes. For the cost it was well worth it.
Vacation golf.
Nice tract. My wife and I play a lot of golf and and we Highly recommend this course. The greens rolled good and the fairways and tee boxes were in good shape. However if ur looking to have a few beers while u play bring your wallet. Over $7 a beer.
Decent Course If It Was Cheaper
I really do like the course itself. There isn't anything inherently bad about the course itself. But I just think it is too expensive for what it is. 100 dollars on a weekday morning is a bit much. Also there were bugs devouring everyones legs at the range and practice greens. But the greens were in good shape and the quality of the course was quite nice.
Fun Day of Golf + Friendly Staff
This was our first time to Hilton Head and we found Golden Bear through the Golf Now website. The key driver of our choice was the price point and tee times available 24 hours in advance. The staff was very friendly and the course had the right mix of challenge and playability for the men and women in our group. It is surrounded by beautiful houses and lots of interesting birds, including a red tail hawk siting and gray heron. I would recommend this course to anyone else traveling to Hilton Head from our area (northwest Illinois).
Very nice track
Course layout is excellent. A true Nicholas design. The club takes great pains to manage pace of play so you’re not stacked up three or four deep on a single hole like so many other resort courses.
The greens were recently aerated so they were a bit bumpy and slow, but over all condition was very good. Staff was great.
Good course, friendly staff
The course was in very good condition. Heavy rain the night before, but the course had drained exceptionally well with no restrictions for cart play. Rough was a little high making finding balls difficult at times. Overall great round, course and staff.
