Cypress Point Country Club
About
Cypress Point Country Club is conveniently located within minutes of the Norfolk International Airport and the Virginia Beach Town Center. Despite its accessibility, the golf course feels peacefully isolated, making it a great choice for golfers who are looking for the convenience of a city course with the pace and beauty of the countryside. It's a layout that is as challenging as it is scenic with strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides and fairways. The occasional water hazard also comes into play. The golf course will challenge players of all skill levels but it's not overly punishing for high handicappers. Beginners will still be able to enjoy a round at Cypress Point Country Club. Besides the course, the club is also popular for its practice facility, which has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

This course needs water and some TLC
Fairways were extremely dry and hard. Greens had just been aerated and were very bumpy. Bunkers were in decent condition with a good amount of sand. Course has a nice layout, but is in dire need of watering. Practice range teeing area has very little grass.
Great Course
We got a great deal on Golf Now. Course was recently aerated but can tell it’s a great course once everything grows in. Will definitely be back to play it when conditions are ideal
Excellent
Great course bunkers greens top condition fairways early spring so can’t expect the best
Stay away if you’re just beginning
Great course and staff. From the club drop off until I left it was a class organization. I’d say stay away if you’re a beginner because the course can be a little intimidating. The houses along some of the fairways and tee boxes are pretty close and can be uncomfortably close at times. Other than that I found the course challenging with nice fairway and green side bunkers that I found a lot. But also some very fun dog legs. Has one of the nicer driving ranges with no pads.
Course status
Course was in very very good condition for the brutal below freezing temperature we have had this winter.
Pace of Play
Cypress Point is a GREAT golf course but pace of play is VERY consistent. Go out first thing in the AM if u want to play under 4 hours. If u go in the afternoon, forget it. ALWAYS some group slow slow slow and no one Marshall’s the course.
Tee area for practice normally spotty to find grass.
Course and layout is great.
Use white balls on #1 and 10. Range balls are yellow.
Course is very walkable.
Great time
Great layout, great staff. Had to leave because of an emergency, they were more than happy to accommodate my request.
Great course in middle of city
I thought the course was great. Nice carts, good range, amazing putting green the greens were in great shape and the bunkers I seem to always find were soft sand. It just rained that morning so the rough was unforgiving.
The only thing bad about the experience was the very slow pace of play. I know it was a Tuesday morning and the older generation is out but it really wasn’t that. It was too congested. Maybe spreading out groups more than 8 min apart is the answer.
I will play again!
Cypress Point
Great course. Only complaint was the sand bunkers were not well maintained
