Title: Incredible Course, Disappointing Experience

Trump National is a spectacular golf course with incredible views and an outstanding layout. The course itself is excellent, but the overall experience falls well short of what you’d expect for $475–$850 a round.

From the moment we arrived, the experience felt underwhelming. There is no valet service on Mondays or Tuesdays, which is surprising for a facility charging these rates. The operation felt understaffed and unorganized. The outside operation appeared to be run by one overwhelmed employee who was juggling multiple responsibilities, including acting as the starter. The pro shop is run by young, inexperienced staff, and the overall level of hospitality simply doesn’t match a luxury golf destination.

The practice facilities were also disappointing. We were hitting off mats, weren’t allowed to hit driver before the round, and the short-game area wasn’t open for public use. To top it off, by the time we finished our round, the clubhouse had already been locked, leaving us without access to either the restroom or the pro shop.

I had a very similar experience when I played here last year, so unfortunately this doesn’t appear to be an isolated incident.

The golf course itself is first-class, but the service and overall hospitality simply don’t justify the premium price. At this level, the experience should feel like a world-class private club. Instead, it felt more like an understaffed municipal course.

Until there are significant improvements to the overall guest experience and staffing, I won’t be returning and can’t recommend it to others.

Loved this course just not the price. However, after dropping over $600 to play I did a re-round for only $100. This course sits right on the coast and has epic views! Conditions were excellent and the staff & crew working out on the course were fantastic. You may be able to find better pricing on the GolfNow app depending on the day & time. This is a course every “good” golfer should play. Enjoy!

It is a nice course to play and difficult. But it is expensive. The restaurant and the grill do open late and close early. Not value for money.

The layout is challenging and making good decisions is key. The wind can be a major factor. The fairways were in immaculate shape. The greens were a bit slow but also in great shape. Pin placements were tricky and never go long. Tight fairways sometimes benefit from fairway woods instead of driver. Views are spectacular- ocean is everywhere. The enormous American flag makes for a true patriotic feel. My only suggestions are: add sand to the bunkers; never saw the beverage cart; add combo tees on card.

I have played this course two weeks ago and I have been impressed by this course beatuful view (almost every hole has its unique view either seaview or hill view). yet, the course is quite narrow which requires player to be able to play accurate ball. Once you hit the ball right or left of the fairway, then it is very hard to find your ball (basically lost ball). Hence please safe shot and carefully manage the course will be important.

I have very enjoyed my game there and took lots of picture along the way of my game.

The only negative was it was cart path only but not the fault of the golf course but they did make me aware via email the day before. The scenery on the course was amazing and the wind brought another challenge. Greens rolled great. Staff from bag drop to check in to starter were fantastic. Looking forward to playing there again the next time I’m back in LA!

First time playing here on a hot deal. The course was in great shape and the views were tremendous. This course is very challenging making you keep the ball in play and will test your putting immensely.

The staff was wonderful and friendly, especially Manny, the starter. He set the tone for the golf course and the experience I would have the rest of the day.

everything is good and worth the price

Likely the most visually appealing course imaginable. The grass appeared to be over seeded as it was thin but long. Needs some more time to fill in. The greens were punched three weeks ago and they still rolled fast and true. The course had just seen a ton of rain but still played really solid. I would definitely play there again but the pace of play was pretty poor. Did not finish with a 12:30 starting time, waited on every shot…which is obviously not good. Great experience overall
