Crescent Pointe Golf Club
About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

Cresente
The course has been brought back to life.
It is not an easy course, but let's you play if fairly straight from 6000 yard
Coming along..
With Summer approaching and the season changed up. The golf course is in very good shape. A few hiccups on the green but not too bad overall very good. Staff is extremely professional and helpful.
Better than the past
We are part time residents of Hilton Head Island and I've played Crescent Pointe e every time we're at our condo, so probably 6 times a year over the past 6 years. I have to say this is the best condition I have seen this course. It has improved tremendously. Great layout, fairways are in good shape and the greens are also in good shape. Great views and a good challenging course. Highly recommend checking it out.
Had a Great Time
Staff was fantastic. Well worth the price. Course is challenging. In good shape. Pace of play was great. GPS / golf range finders on the carts were top of the line. Would definitely recommend.
Condition
Tees were poor, mostly dirt. Lacked trimming around course, tees, water areas this would of finished the course, instead it seemed overgrown. Lot of water.
Great value
Enjoyed the course. Greens in good shape. Only serious suggestion. Please fix cart path. Each time it transitions from concrete to dirt there is a 3 inch drop off. Maybe there is no way to fix this. Still overall a good value
Great course
First time playing this course and playing without my own clubs. The course was very accommodating and a great value!
Conditioning holds it back
Nice layout...houses, but not right on top of you. Ponds and marsh views abound.
But.....condition....
Fairways B
Greens B-
Traps C
Tees D
Cartpaths F
Semi-private, and not sufficient revenue to keep it well manicured...
But . fun
First time playing
The atmosphere and the fairways were great, greens need some work and some cart paths. Need to be able to play, for the pace of play, it's not for beginners!!
Great layout Awful conditions
First; if you have any physical back issues, the cart paths will probably give you problems. The course itself is in very poor shape. The tees and fairways are not good at all. The greens are OK. Our golf cart was was old and the GPS had a geo fence that was blaring an alert on almost every hole while our cart was on the dilapidated cart path; very annoying. The only positive would be the layout is very good if you don’t mind hitting from less than stellar conditions.
Nice views but green issues
Course staff and layout were great but issues with greens dampened my thoughts
Good course for the money
Challenging course. Greens play true. Fairways in solid shape. Some greens are minded repair. Flags place well away from these areas. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
I played super quick which is how I like to play. Slower groups let me pass through when it was possible and not backlogged.
Wildlife And Scenic Views
The course has a great layout and was in great shape - fairways were freshly cut, greens were fast, rough was mostly waste area and forest undergrowth. However, the concrete cart paths were jarring at times because of gaps that occurred without notice along the way.
The title reflects the best parts of our experience - sighting gator, raccoon, sand crane, Great egret, ducks, and deer. And, drives through the vaste marshland made our round more memorable.
Not our scores.
The course played long. We struggled to make GIR on par 4's. Bunkers guarded most greens. We faced numerous forced carrys over water and marshland, and fast greens.
We recommend this course for those with lower handicaps. Our high scores were a testimony to our deficienies and frustrations, not the course itself.
