We were pleasantly surprised with the conditions and challenging and attractive layout of this well maintained course. Even in October conditions were quite good.

We are looking forward to playing here again.

I truly enjoyed playing Old South, on what turned out to be an outstanding day as far as the weather goes. The staff was very friendly, and the course was in good condition. Top Dressing on the greens affected putts a little, but nothing too crazy and I love to see courses take the proper steps to keep their course in great condition. Fairways and tee boxes were in great condition. The downside was that it took 5:15 to play our 18 hole round, with a tee time shortly before noon, There are a couple holes that slow things down, but for a Thursday round that is amazingly slow. Player Assistant on the course was quite frankly a waste as there is no way this persons presence sped play up at all. Everything outside of the time to play was really good.

First time playing this course today . Golf now gives this a 4.4 out of 5. I’d beg to differ. Booked 18 holes but quit after 9 because of the glacial pace of play. I understand needing to make a profit, but there were WAY too many groups on the course. Several times had four groups waiting , even on par fours. Tee boxes weren’t very well maintained and greens were hard and didn’t hold approach shots well. Pretty expensive for the nine holes I played, but I just couldn’t take it anymore. Much better options in the area, so my recommendation would be to spend yours elsewhere.

This was about the tenth time I have played this course. I find service dependent upon variables hard to identify. There have been a few times where uncomfortable was the end result. A lot of those came from the Starter in the earlier dates. Todays' Starter was friendlier and more understanding than previous visits. he would've allowed

After reading a review from a few days ago I was pretty apprehensive about playing today. Thankfully my apprehensiveness was unrealistic. Course is in great shape. Yes the greens were over seeded and top dressed a week ago but they played fine. A little slow but fine. Morning moisture caused a little sand to stick to the ball but that ended as the morning progressed. Would love to play it in a couple weeks.

Overall a great day! Staff was great and Mary was super on the beverage cart!

Old South is one of the best overall golf options in the Hilton Head area. Interesting layout. Fantastic flora and fauna. Very helpful staff. Reasonable rates.

The greens had recently been maintained and top dressed with sand. No mention of the course condition was provided by website or pro shop when we made our tee time the previous day before playing. The notification of the current playing conditions was provided by posting a small sign at the clubhouse registration desk. The green fees should have been deeply discounted. I was told general manager would contact me following day to discuss our disappointment with the course. That call was never received. Obviously would never return or recommend playing this course.

Course is in very good condition with fairways & 1st cut well maintained. Greens just sanded preparing for overseeing so a little slow

Course was in good conditions, except the greens were sandy and very slow. Nice layout typical of low country golf with a few picturesque holes along the water. Not overly narrow or difficult. Pace of play was a bit slow at 4:30. Food and beverage extremely reasonably priced. Good value for golf in Hilton head island area. Would recommend.

One of the best deals you can get for golf in and around HHI. They unfortunately laid seed and sand on the greens yesterday and today so it was impossible to get anything to stop on the green or putt. After a week or so I’m sure they will be in fine condition. Fun layout with a couple beautiful holes on the front.

People were great course was in good shape. Hade a great time and will go back
