Links at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

The price at the Links was $70, compared to $127 last year at the same time of the year. We got a discount because of the aerated greens.

I was not overly impressed with The Links course except for the holes by the bay. With the aerated greens, you couldn't make a putt. They were rough and bumpy.

The Links course was not manicured. Just a basic golf course with very grainy Bermuda greens.

The memorable holes were the ones by the bay (6, 7, 9, 13, 14, 15). I liked the par 5, 11th hole too. Dogleg left with a large tree to the right that comes into play on your 2nd shot. Do you lay up to allow you to hit over this tree or try to hit in the narrow slot to the left of the tree.

Areas of concern on the course:

Several holes with overhanging branches affecting your tee shot. Extremely wet areas in front of several greens.

The signage on the course was very poor. I wasn’t sure where the next hole was several times. On hole 10, you see two pins. Not sure which one you’re playing too. The other pin you see is hole 17.

Sign at on the pro shop desk states “no rain checks will be given today”. I’ve never seen this at any course. It wasn’t an issue with us because we were not interested in finished our round or coming back due to the poor course conditions. This entire property looks tired. The greens had weeds, the fringe was unkept and full of weeds as well. It wasn’t cart path only when we played, the cart path is not paved throughout the entire course so you are bobbing and weaving the entire time, it’s not pleasant. Where is is paved, a lot of damaged spots. All in all, my opinion is $119 to play is entirely too much. This place has good bones but needs a refresh and some major attention put into the course.

Pretty good value, very slow pace of play. Greens extremely slow.

Course was a lot of fun. Lots of water in play so have to plan your shots. Couple risk/reward holes.

Fun course to play, friendly staff and beverage carts are timely.

Was a 40 minute drive from Rosemary beach area. Got a great deal on Groupon. Lots of water to deal with. Cart girls were frequent. 18 holes in 4 hours.

We play the links every summer we stay at sandestin. Course is always in great shape and the sta6is very friendly. The course plays tougher than you expect.

The course is well maintained and managed. It is challenging and fair. There are beautiful views of the ocean.

Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape; scenic layout; the greens were ragged with sand; play was slow.

Nice course, scenic, right on the Bayside, can be a bit windy on some holes. Course is in great shape!

The course’s fairways were excellent. The view of the ocean on some of the holes is a must see. The greens were recently aerated so they were pure.

This is the original Sandestin course. Such a great track. Bring your A game. Lots of water but wide fairways. Turf conditions always great. Greens were recently punched but course is so fun. Not long. Consider playing back a tee if you want to hit driver. Lots of doglegs and angles. Wind is ALWAYS a factor.

Was really impressed by the condition of the course, nice layout, very nice place to play. Pace of play was great for starting early in the morning. Will definitely come back and play again when coming back to Destin.

The course was absolutely beautiful. Great weather; although, it had rained pretty good the day before so it was cart path only for my round. The greens had been punched a week or so before I played as well. I would like to see it in perfect conditions. The people working were not exactly polite; however the starter was phenomenal and I would highly recommend talking to him about certain holes and ways to play before starting the round. The cart paths were in rough shape, and the signage could have been much better for where to return carts and how to find certain holes. The range was closed as well since it had rained so much, but it looked like it was in great shape. I got a hot dog as well that was just microwaved, not exactly the ideal way, but it was still a pretty decent hot dog although it was a little higher priced that normal. All in all, I want to play it again for sure.
