Winter Park Pines Golf Club
About
Winter Park Pines Golf Club has offered one of the most affordable rounds in the greater Orlando area since first opening in 1968. The course has a traditional design that is ideal for beginners though it's also great if you're looking for a quick, casual round. The par-70 golf course may seem odd with a par-34 front nine and a par-36 back nine, but the layout manages to blend together seamlessly. The golf course has short par 4s and par 3s of varying lengths. There is one par 5 that measures 462 yards. The first half of the course is especially scenic with mature trees framing most of the holes. In addition to the golf course, Winter Park Pines also has a practice facility available. It features a driving range as well as putting and chipping greens with a bunker.

Dry
Like most courses in Florida right now this plaice is dryy. If I’m going to play a dry course I at least want my greens playable. Few holes putts are bouncing like a basketball. I don’t know if I’d play here again besides for a confidence booster. 5000 yard course from the white. Will play tips if I come back
Golfer Friendly Course
The best part about this facility are its staff. Everyone is greeted with a smile and cheerful joke/jest in the Pro Shop before your round. I enjoyed my round with the exception of the condition of the greens.
Needs some work
Course used to be in good shape but the greens look like they haven’t been tended to in a very long time. Not a good price to pay to have to put over land minds
Might be worst course ever
I would give zero stars if I could. I do not know what has happened to this course. I’ve played it a lot in past. There is only one green that is not damaged. All other greens are unplayable. I have never seen anything like it. If airways are in fair condition the tee boxes are chopped up. I would not play this course for free it is that bad. Really sad to see this happen. The city of winter park should close it down and start all over.
Not Real Golf
This course has always been a short knock around course. Bumping it from par 67 to 70 really is a joke, but the worst part is there are NO GREENS. I repeat THERE ARE NO GREENS.
The city of Winter Park is price gouging at $60 to play a golf course without greens. Someone with the resources could and should sue.
First time here - Greens today weren’t great
Not a bad neighborhood course at all and very convenient to get to from the Winter Park area. First time playing here and was expecting better greens for a Florida course but it was kinda lumpy and lots of dry/sand fixes on the green. Hard to gauge putts and was more slow than fast. Not a bad course at all but def fits in the affordable neighborhood category which is totally fine. I don’t know if I’ll be back for awhile bc of the green condition but we only played the front 9.
Usually in good conditions, not right now
Let me start out by saying I play twice a week and only play this course three or four times a year because it’s boring flat straight and very crowded. Usually the conditions are good … the other day the greens were partially sand and very rough grass and pretty much unputtable… I wouldn’t recommend anybody playing there for at least 2-4 weeks for the greens to come back …..if you like short easy courses enjoy
Needs Improvement
I enjoy playing this course and play it better than others I go to. The greens are not in good condition, and that is the only negative I have for the course.
Great Layout
This course is nice for the price. Great little layout and some fun holes. The only down sides were:
1.) The greens needing a little love.
2.) The staff don't seem very happy to see you come in (at least to me).
Beware the Wind
The course was in rough shape when I played it. The greens were a mix of awful and kind of okay but slow. Fairways were in good shape and the bunkers were well maintained. The course is short but in the wind it can still be challenging. There is a premium on straight drives because the holes are tree lined and anywhere off the fairway the grass is spotty at best. It's a good track if you want to walk and a good place to take a beginner. If your handicap is below 12, there are probably better options.
Needs Rangers
The course is not in good shape. Not that I’m a great golfer but this place has so many beginners that are unaware of golf etiquette. Group in front of us were cllurless in leaving their cart parked in the middle of the fairway 30 feet in front of the green, while they were putting out! Carts keep turning you off when you’re in the fairway! Pace of play was terrible, no rangers to force slow groups to speed up play! All the greens were damaged !
Great Round of Golf
The staff here were great and course conditions better than expected after the cold winter in Florida. The pace pf play was good and golfers were very friendly. We had difficulty with travel and staff were able to accomodate us , somthing that doesn't always happen. Overall a great day. We plan to go back for another round.
