Rio Pinar Golf

Normally I like this course but the greens are rough and difficult to putt...for me it ruins the challenge of getting to the green if you can't putt successfully after arriving. I went about 3 months ago just after aeration and it was bad...waited 2 months and they had verti cut and it was bad...went yesterday and the greens had been punched and not refilled with sand...was bad again...was with 2 other players who also were disapointed

No one mentioned the greens were being aerated…Till the starter told us. I can’t understand why the pro shop can’t tell you???

Course conditions are in good shape. Staff and facilities are top notch, the clubhouse is really nice and a good vibe.

A few things I wasn't fond of: extremely difficult to hold greens, super hard (not to be confused with fast) causing chip shots to roll off and putts to roll out 6-8 feet if you miss). Trees and water everywhere, too much vegetation and lots of really tight lies.

Highly skilled players will have a good time, mid/high HC players be prepared to lose 10 balls and make lots of three putts lol

Course was in great condition, pace of play was good, the greens rolled true and were in good condition. Definitely recommend playing here, for the price and experience you get it’s hard to beat! Staff was friendly and helpful, bev cart made a perfect water hazard. Honestly a great experience and again for the price you can’t ask for a better course

I've just started playing Rio Pinar (despite living rather nearby for several years), because I kept hearing about how good it's gotten. What I've heard was correct. The course is in really nice shape from tees to greens, my 2 rounds so far have been 4 hours and 3-1/2 hours, and the people there are extremely welcoming and friendly. Special kudos to Mike, the starter - he's a real asset to the club! Give it a try, and you won't be disappointed.

Great challenging layout. Greens were a little bumpy but roll out fine. Had a 4some and finished in 3 hours 40 minutes. Staff all around is great!

The course has really put in the work to get it in the condition that it is in. All of us that play the course really appreciate it.

Only issue, is the beverage cart was only seen once during the round, other than the first time on the first fairway! (of course)

I have played this course many times, this is the best condition I have ever seen it. The renovations are incredible. This is a 1st class club

This course has been recently renovated and is superb! Practice facilities are state of the art. The course was in the best shape I have seen it, even though it is the middle of the summer. Greens were perfect and fast. Fairways were in excellent condition. The back nine is more challenging. Great value with Hot Deal. The clubhouse facilities look great! The only fault is that the kitchen is closed on Mondays so we could not eat there. Highly recommend it. This used to be the home of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

First time playing at this course. A bit of a drive out but worth the drive. Beautiful course and layout. Greens looked like they’ve been recently scarified but didn’t detract us from our enjoyment and they were extremely fast. Staff all very friendly. Pace of play was ok. We had a 3 ball in front of us who had a small child with them. They allowed the child a chance to putt some holes which was great for them all but did slow play down a bit. All in all a good round. We loved the friendly fox squirrels 😊⛳️

I played Rio about 1 1/2 months ago...the greens had been recently aeriated and were terrible, like putting on a waffle iron, no post maintenance... so I understand work has to be done on the greens from time to time...yesterday I find they had verticut, I think that is the term where the greens are sliced vertically... So it was like putting on corduroy fabric....if you can't putt getting to the green has no meaning

First time playing as i was playing it as first round of a golf trip. Course was great, tight, but very well conditioned. My only issue was the pace of play - 5 hours.

The greeting at bag drop was both friendly and informative. Check in was very fast. Range was fantastic. Trackman was fun. Putting and chipping conveniently located. Got out a group early and moved along at a nice pace. Course in fine shape. Not easy but not so that you feel you didn’t have a chance to score. 4 hour round. Will return.

Nice course tight fairways with trees on both sides.

Course was in very good condition. Issue was on course amenities (beverage cart) wasn’t seen on the back nine. When it’s 95 degrees and no water on course it’s not good. Not the fault of cart attendant as she was hustling, just needed another. Or, get one of the unpleasant rangers to drive a bev cart instead of worrying about being 8 minutes off pace on the 15th hole. Number one reason golfers don’t return to a course is how the staff treats them.

I played Rio Pinar several years back and seeing it now is a vast improvement. Rio Pinar has invested money into the course and club house to make it a very enjoyable experience. What a fabulous improvement and will definitely play again. The course was in very good shape and the greens ran true. Would highly recommend playing this course.
