Had two Tee times, but only five showed up to play. Golf course could not give me credit for the three players that did not play. Must have golf now give credit for the prepaid 3 players.
Revised Rio
Rio has been through some modifications, a few extra bunkers, etc. Restaurant had a much needed overhaul and they now have carts with GPS. They do need to modify the sensors on the carts to allow driving in the rough and tree lines without shutting down or slowing to a crawl. It would speed things up. Greens were in great shape and rolled true.
Rio Pinar
Much improved over the last time I played it. Great layout. Very challenging. Close to airport and downtown Orlando. Still a work in progress, but worth playing.
New ownership
New ownership is making lots of improvements, not 100% there yet but definitely moving in the right direction.
Renovations still ongoing
I’ve played this course for years and this weekend was very rough condition. Several unfinished bunkers with mix of dirt and sand. Added fairway bunkers that stretch half the hole. Tee boxes had tall grass. Once was a favorite course, but needs some serious work.
Rio is back
New owners have turned this course into a great golf experience. They no longer double book tee times. Greens 8/10. Fairways 7/10. Pace 8/10. Burger after round 10/10. Staff said that driving range should be done in a month, they’re building covered bays with trackman.
Great Improvements
New ownership is resulting in the return of a great course and atmosphere.
Rio Pinar
Course is getting in better shape ( under new ownership) and once we made the turn the pace of play picked up.
November 16/23 golf cancelled at Rio Pinar
We called the clubhouse and they asked us to go into our account and cancel due to the heavy rain.
Went into our GolfNow account and cancelled. However I did not get a confirmation from GolfNow.
Was I suppose to.?
Having fun
With the course undergoing a face lift. it was in great condition. I couple greens still need some attention, but all in all great day to play.
Great improvement since the last time
This always a favorite. The course have a lot of history and deserve the work and money invested in. Once the practice areas are done and a couple of other things around the course, it will be back to a 5 stars ✨
kudos
My group decided to see how the renovations
were coming along. The knew owner is
pouring money and manpower into the course.
All 18 greens were excellent.
I was in 4 bunkers and the sand was just right with 2 rakes in each bunker . New bunkers are still under construction. The carts have GPS
with 2 bottles of water and ice. Practice range still under construction.
Two small suggestions: Put a sign on the road for bag drop. Increase the speed of the gps fencing for rough areas from 3mph to 6 mph. I can walk 4 mph. Keep it up !! ck.
