Have played. Ventura a couple of times. Yesterdays round lasted for 5 hours with waiting on every hole and every shot. The round had been very enjoyable with normal pace of play at an otherwise beautiful golf course.
Enjoyable course to play
This course is well maintained, has plenty of challenges with water, bunkers and some tight fairways. The greens are hard and fast, but putt true. Some greens have sandy repaired areas.
I hurt knee and carts stopped a good distance from greens and tees. Skipped some of them. Nice short course, gets a LOT of community play. A nice day.
I play here all the time
I play the course several times a year it’s normally in excellent shape and it’s a good value for the dollar unfortunately when I played the other day something was happening with the greens and there were weeds growing and that were like kind of textured and if you had to putt through them on the way to the hole it just messed up your line all together so they need to either be out there and pull or spray them or something but this is the about first time I’ve ever had problems
Some good, some bad
The course layout was interesting and fun. The course conditions were good, not great. Biggest negative was pace of play. Played behind 3 older gentlemen with handicap flags on their carts. Not their fault obviously, but they were extremely slow. What made it worse was that they were ball hunting on every hole that had water. Taking time on every hole to fish balls out of the water. Luckily they only played nine, but that nine took 2-1/2 hours.
Not sure if I’d play again.
I was surprised to find out that this is more of an executive muni type Golf course. The reviews I read before booking a time didn't prepare me for what I did experience. I'm a low handicap on Golf trip from Michigan trying to find the best courses in the area. Course is short, relatively short but in poor condition, especially the greens. Fortunately I was just playing 9 and for $30 it was OK, but if you are looking to play a high quality golf course in Orlando I wouldn't recommend this one.
Great course, especially for the money. They are redesigning between May and November. We are bummed, but excited to see the changes!
1st Round of 2022 -- Ventura CC
I hear Ventura will be closed for revamping within the next couple of months, so I was glad to take advantage of GN's Hot Deals on this third day of new year 2022. The course is actually not in bad shape, although I used to shoot mid 70's on this short course, my old weak swing doesn't produce like it once did. I got paired with nice Icelandic couple, and we had fun in the Florida sun. The greens' were OK, the sand bunkers need workup, the par 3s (like 12, 16, 7) are getting longer (remember I'm old & short-hitter), but still a fun short course to play convenient to East-side communities.
Fun Track and Friendly Locals
It was our first time playing at Ventura. Course is in good shape. Not as long as many courses. Plenty of trouble to get into. A shot makers course. Very friendly 19th hole and great food and service. We will definitely be back!!
Seen it in better shape.
Green Valley is a great course to play when it is in good shape. The greens were good, fairways and rough were a bit "rough". Still fun to play though.
OK. Nothing special.
An OK course. Lots of moisture in the fairways even though it hasn't really rained much. Pro shop staff was very friendly but the starter was rude unless you are a regular. Food at the 19 th hole was good but the menu was short. I would probably play again but it wouldn't be my first choice.
