Ventura Country Club

For an intermediate player who is a senior, this course is perfect and I would play it regularly if it wasn't an hour plus from my home.

Everything except the traps was in tip-top shape. The greens were pretty fast for this time of year, which is fine as they rolled very true.

I think a more skilled player might find the course a little boring, but I must say the par 5s and most of the par 3s were very challenging.

Played here again and course was good overall especially for June. Just sanded greens but they rolled true. Restaurant is always good. Only complaint is cart girl showed up on hole one before we teed off and we Never saw her again. Unacceptable when the heat index is 101.

Best under $100 course I’ve played in a while. Not perfect, but they’re putting in work, greens could use some love but this plays was more than playable at that rate. I was really expecting the worst of the worst with the rate and was super happy with this place.

The course has several challenging holes where you have to navigate water, and there are plenty of sand traps. The condition was very good. It also has several holes where it can be an easy par or better. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I play with a few friends often, and we all enjoy the course; it's the course we play most often.

Sorry guys, I like your course; but the greens are just not up to the conditions that I would expect. They are bumpy and very inconsistent.

Staff is very friendly and the 19th hole is a great place stop by after you are done for some food and drinks.

It is short. White tees are only 5400. Pace is slow. It’s in good shape. Greens are fast as I like them to be.

The staff are super friendly and helpful and the course is in good shape. It’s got some very challenging holes that will put your skills to work.

Me and my buddies play Ventura at least once a week, and we’ve pretty much made it our home course, not because we live there, but because it’s always our first choice. The course is always in great shape every time we play, and you can tell the staff really takes pride in keeping it that way.

What really makes Ventura stand out for me though is the people. Everyone from the starter to the pro shop and clubhouse staff is always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely cool to be around. It’s the kind of place that keeps you coming back. Give me Ventura any day of the week.

Pro shop guy was very nice. However the "veteran" starter was a bit prickly. Said that everyone was waiting on me, mind you I heard the pro shop guy telling that the guy that had my same tee time was going to be late. Told me how to get to the first hole like it bothered him that I hadn't played there before. I always ask at first time if there is anything different" I should know about the course (certain holes, worked on areas, etc) his answer another bothered .....no. He actually sighed when he said like I was bothering him. I get to the first holes turns out the 2 others that were joining me amd the other player weren't even there yet. Aside from the prickly starter. The course is nice, it plays short. Great layout. The pace needs work. There was a 3some in front of us (2some) and they let a 4some go in front......why? No ranger on-site to help with this or these types of issues. Again, seems like a nice course, but it has it's personal issues. I'd play it again, maybe the guy was ragging it w,ho knows.

This course like others is suffering from lack of rain but the greens are in decent shape.

The tee boxes were just sodded and most of the greens had bare spots and patches of different grass staff was friendly enough and the layout was good but course conditions need improvement before I could recommend.
