Great but not for average players
My husband and I started golfing seriously, taking lessons and playing regularly (twice a month) about a year ago. While we are still beginners, we usually shoot around ~105-110, so we aren't the WORST but certainly not anywhere near "good" yet. This was my first time at the course, my husband had played before, and I didn't feel very welcomed in the pro shop. I was asking about course maps (didn't know the carts came with the GPS tablet maps - which is a really nice touch!), and trying to get directions and it felt like I was bothering the staff. We were also paired with another twosome, which was fine as they were very friendly and matched our experience level. However before we got out to the tee, the staff came over as we were loading the cart and it felt as if we were rushed to get out there, despite being about 20 minutes early. This may be a common thing and I'm just new to the sport. The golf carts are tracked and a little yellow message comes up if you're behind your pace of play. We received the message two times saying we were 8 minutes behind, and a staff member came and told us to pick it up. We were frustrated because there was a group in front of us (which I'm sure they could see on their trackers) so not sure how we could have gone any faster. Finally, the course was really well maintained compared to others I have played but the driving range is not accessible (you have to drive there in your car and can't take the cart so be aware) which was a slight bummer. Overall, it is a really nice course but I do think they cater to regulars and more experienced players who fit a particular build.
This course has been up and down, all around. Back in decent shape. Not a resort course by any means but you’ll have fun if you can keep it straight. Driver doesn’t even have to come out if you don’t want. Par 5’s might require, dealers choice. For the price, it’s fun. However I know it can be busy at times. Thankfully the high was 96 today and scared some people off!!
I play Ventura several times a year and it’s always fun they have a good maintenance, a beverage cart and starter …good golf carts …greens are usually excellent today they were fast ….a good place to play ….if you have never been there check it out
Played 18 in under 4 hrs on a Friday afternoon. Wow. Course was in really good shape. Had a great time. Recommend highly.
Overall nice track for the cost. Challenging par three’s and overall a positive experience. Outstanding staff.
I had a reservation at Ventura and the reservation was cancel due to tournament being play today. Email was send 45 minutes before tee time. Try to contact the customer via phone or try via text. Between the golf course and golfpass should comp the next round.
Best City Golf
No better option if you live in and around downtown Orlando. Warm up at Bad Dog driving range and enjoy a round on this well maintained urban gem of a course.
This golf course is in excellent conditions
Happy I got a hot deal from golfnow.
Course was in good shape overall. One hole has a new T Box for white and blue that did not show up on the gps app and was very confusing. Pace of play on the front was wonderful but then we caught up to the slowest two gofers who spent a lot of time fishing for balls so that made the back a bit painful. Near the airport with lots of planes flying over constantly. Par 3s are very long - not used to using my driver on Par 3s.
The driving range is about a half mile from the clubhouse. Apparently you have to get your balls, and then take your car to it. Aah.... no. The putting green was fine, but the chipping green was a postage stamp. The tee boxes were beat up and thin of grass. The fairways were spotty. The greens were small but fine. No disease, but patches of a different grass. The fairways were very narrow, but l couldn’t really rate how it affected play because the wind was sustaining 20-30 mph the whole round. All in all... I’d play it again as long as it was less that $40.
