Schaumburg Golf Club - Tournament/Players Course
About
Schaumburg Golf Club is a 27-hole layout that has hosted the U.S. Open Qualifying and Illinois Open Qualifying tournaments as well as numerous other events since it first opened in 1928. The course is divided into three nines: the Tournament, Players, and Baer. Each course has a different character but one characteristic they all have is the undulating terrain. All three golf courses also boast well manicured tees, greens, and fairways. The nines are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Tournament/Players course features the most water of the three combinations. The par-4 fifth hole on the Tournament nine has a particularly tricky forced carry over a large pond. In addition to the golf courses, Schaumburg has a practice facility that includes a driving range and two putting greens.

Beautiful Fall Day! Schaumburg Golf Course Photo submitted by silver92z on 10/31/2012
Great course for price
Great course for the price . The course is in great condition and they keep it well groomed .
It’s a great course from beginners to great players
Open fairways and not a lot of water helps newer golfers have some success
Great condition!
Despite the recent heavy rain, the fairways and overall course were remarkably well-maintained, with all broken branches and debris completely cleared away. The beautiful layout and well-balanced green speed made the round even more enjoyable.
Public Country Club without the Membership Fees
With the amount of golf traffic this course gets in a season, the General Manager makes sure it looks the same from opening till closing season.
Top Tracer driving range and 2 practice putting greens are 5 star.
Excellent for all level of golfers. Tee to Green every hole is a gem.
After golf they have a great bar & restaurant!
Excellent golf experience
This is a great place to golf. Well taken care of by the staff and the golfers. Challenging but fun. Safe drives lead to good scores.
Some guys think they're in the PGA...
Let me first start by saying, I LOVE this course. But...
The pace of play was SOOOOO slow at 5:45pm. The guys right in front of us had the slowest pace ever. Too many shots to get up on the green, and then taking so much time putting. By the time we had gotten on the green, the guys were barely teeing off on the next hole. Thing is, the group ahead of them had separated themselves by at least a hole and a half. If a marshall was present, they would have realized how slow this group ahead was, and told them to pick up the pace. But since it's twilight, they don't care. It's the end of their day. Very annoying. By the time we finished 9 holes, it was 8:10pm. No way to continue to play an additional nine since carts need to be in by 8:20pm.
Best conditioned public course in the ares
I play about 30 different public courses a year
Schaumburg is the best conditioned I play
Tee boxes are level and the grass is cut properly
Bunkers - great sand , consistency, and NO rocks
Greens roll true and at a consistent and good pace
Nice course
Played on Sunday afternoon with my wife. Pace was better than I expected for the day and time. Course is in nice condition. Staff helpful and friendly.
Fast greens, great conditions, extremely well run
Greens were excellent - fast, ran smooth and fair. Bunkers had compacted crushed sand. Tee boxes were fantastic. Fairways, rough, second cut, all fantastic. Rare to see a public course in this condition. Carts had GPS that showed distance from tee from all tees, and green slopes.
10 minute tee time intervals which is getting rare for public courses today, our foursome was done in under 4 hours with waiting only on a few holes. Staff accommodated a late tee time change.
Grounds were immaculate, clubhouse had a nice restaurant/patio. Everything top notch. Staff was friendly. Great facility. Would play here over and over and over again if I lived in the area. Completely understand why the tee sheet was full on a weekday.
No real complaints other than the range was mats and you don't get any free range balls to warm up, although to be fair this is rarely the case at any public courses. Wish I would have taken better photos.
Well kept course.
Everything about the course was really good. The greens were fast and pretty difficult to read. Had 8 more putts than other round this year. Everybody in the foursome struggled on the greens.
The cost of a riding cart was much more expensive than any course near it
Paulc
Schaumburg golf course is perfect for the golfer who
Does not like long greens, tight fairways and lots of water .
The course of golf friendly, well maintained ,
Water and bathrooms on every 9 holes .
I play it 2x a week and really enjoy the course
Country club like greens
Course was in excellent condition, with greens running as smooth and quick as most country clubs. Course was extremely fun to play, although not overly challenging. Played the Tournament/Baer combination, with the Tourament being the best of the 3 9s there.
Quality enjoyable course, classy great food n drink
Schaumburg is a great quality all around course. The conditions on the course give you the feeling that they care and are good at it. Great safe environment as well. Classy place. Super small criticism they need better ventilation in their bathrooms I can see hot weather etc. but get some fans going in them. Lol
Favorite quality course and I play a lot of different courses
Great
This course was great for the price. Highly recommend
