Bumpy ride
Cart paths and many fairways were bumpy enough to send my laser finder flying.
Good Ole Cottonwood, Good times
This is a pretty good track to play some golf. It’s priced fairly. Fairways & Greens are decent. The greens are steadily improving. Bar Tender Faith, is a gem. Always in a good mood with some great spirited conversations. She gives me that neighborhood bar feeling…. When I do come to play, I know the baggage that comes with it, 1) certain holes have lots of leaves in the rough, easy to lose your balls. 2) Price attracts the weekend hacks who doesn’t understand golf etiquette, rolling up to your tee box noisy, while you’re hitting, no warning on an errant drive or hitting into you. 3) understanding pace of play
Great Value!
When this course is in decent condition (it was when I played) it might be the best value option in the SD area. Very playable for the average golfer.
I would say the bunkers were the only thing that was in poor condition, but unfortunately that’s common in SD outside of the nicer courses.

Played in just over 4 hours. Greens were perfect. Need sand in bunkers though.

Good for the Money
Cottonwood has not changed much in the last 10 years. It's a good course for under $100.00, much better then say Carton Oaks, Greens are pretty good. Overall a good course.

Cottonwood IS East county San Diego.
Some places a little rough and some places a little dry
Overall a nice place to play for 18 holes. Staff is always friendly and the cafe is friendly but a little... Vintage. It's a nice flat walk and always fresh air. More pickup trucks than Teslas. I'd rate the greens 95% good. Fairways 80%. If you're in the rough you deserve it. Have fun here
