The course at Copper Canyon Golf Club is deceptively exclusive in that although the club has prestige and a luxurious atmosphere, there are some reasonably priced tee times. The layout features an interesting mix of holes that offer panoramic views of the White Tank Mountains to the south. The large, undulating greens that are framed by generous fairways are the trademark of the course. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also sand bunkers situated throughout. This golf course offers four sets of teeboxes. Copper Canyon Golf Club has extensive practice facilities for golfers to use as well, including a full length driving range with several target greens, a large practice putting green, and a short game area with a bunker.

Traps

Good golf today on mountain vista, holed out of the trap on hole one, challenging bunkers.

Course is getting very dry

Although this is one of my favorite courses I am sad to say it is getting very dry and thin. The fairways have far too many dry and thin areas. The greens are getting hardpacked They still putt fairly smooth, but are very dry. They are no where near as lush as they used to be. I have played out here for years (although I haven't played for 6 months due to an injury) this is the driest I have ever seen this course. Most of the sand traps were hardpacked too. The pace was slow. 4 hours and 45 minutes. No Marshal and the place was packed.

Bunkers need sand.

Bunkers were very firm with little sand. Very difficult to hit a good shot out of them.

Very vanilla layout with no memorable holes, but conditions weee good other than bunkers.

Don’t miss the fairways greens are great

If you miss the fairways, you are in gravel or rocks not desert. I really don’t understand the logic of all gravel. It’s not worth destroying a club so I just took a stroke each time. Fairways tee boxes and greens are awesome. Sand traps are good but could use a little more sand. Good driving range, if you haven’t played it go for it!

Great Day for Golf

We were the first group out that day so pace of play was not an issue. Course conditions were very good. I played with some residents of the community and they were friendly and helpful with were to aim. I thought the layout was good as well. Greens rolled true with just the right amount of speed.

An Oasis in the middle of desert.

I was hoping for better vistas and elevation changes. A little disappointed in that regard. Not worth an hours drive for me. Another nice Del Webb community.

Hidden Gem

My first time here and I really enjoyed the round. Was immediately greeted at the bag drop by a very professional and courteous gentleman and assigned a cart. Check in was smooth. Practiced facility was excellent and consisted of a large putting green, grass range, and separate chipping area with a practice bunker that was well kept.

Course conditions were excellent, even considering the recent heat wave. Fairways and tee boxes green and lush. Greens smooth and receptive, even to long iron approaches. Speed of greens was well above others at the same price. Bunkers are native sand but not packed like hard pan.

Outside of the occasional senior citizen members that gave a nasty look and tone taken to anyone who wasn’t clearly a resident, regular, or a clear retiree (I’m well into my 40s), this is 5 stars.

I found it to be a beautiful blend of Estrella (for conditions), Sundance (Layout), and Palm Valley (layout) if you know these tracks

Always great experience at copper canyon

Really love these courses. Staff is very friendly, courses are in amazing condition, layout is fun, and pace was fantastic. We had a twilight time and had no problem getting in 18. Always come back here for some of the best value in Arizona in my opinion.

VERY INTERESTING COURSE

They have three nines and I played Lake/Mountain the Lake nine was beautiful with a nice layout, greens were readable with medium undulation, a bit on the fast side.

turning to the Mountain nine with huge drive in-between nine hole and greens had dead elephants with huge undulations. very unreadable, weather came in and the last four holes were almost unplayable with rain and 25 mile a hour winds. I had been wanting to play this course for a while. I say Go play it and try not to 3 putt.
