Review of the Frog
Just need to clean up some of the sand traps and maybe GPS in the carts.
Teeboxes and fairways were in great shape and green was rolling true despite having been resentful aerated.
The Frog is in excellent shape!
The Frog is in excellent shape. Greens rolled true. Staff were very friendly. Great food as well.
Frog was looking nice
I’ve played here about a dozen times, first time back in a few months and the course was in great shape. I played on a Friday afternoon and did not have to wait at all on any holes. Finished in sub 4 hours.
Greens were looking fresh and the course looked well managed. Maintenance has taken a step up!
The Frog Review
The Frog did not disappoint. The course is in excellent condition overall, and it delivers a fun, exciting round of golf that feels worth the cost.
Course Conditions
The greens roll true, hold approach shots well, and provide a consistent putting surface.
Fairways — Clean, well‑maintained, and supportive of solid ball striking.
-Tee boxes — Smooth and in great shape, adding to the overall quality of play.
Areas for Improvement
-Cart paths — Several sections need repair or resurfacing to match the quality of the course.
Driving range — Could use upgrades to better reflect the standard of the course itself.
Overall Experience*Despite a few areas that need attention, the course is enjoyable, well‑kept, and offers strong value. The layout is engaging, the conditions are impressive, and the round feels both fun and rewarding.
The Frog is back
The Frog was one of our favorite places to play a few years ago. It went through a period where the course was in disrepair. New ownership has worked hard to improve the course conditions and now it’s in very good shape.
The Frog is making a comeback
Have always loved this track. Great Fazio layout. Fell on hard times but is making its way back. Greens were excellent, fairways are filling in and even the bunkers are now playable. Wishing the new ownership all the best. There was a lot of activity and the staff was sufficient to meet needs at the grill and on the course.
177 People booked!!!!
I left after the 12th hole!!! Greed is all that is about...it took 38 minutes to Play 1 hole because they allow overbooking and don't space it out. NO fun when you play 7 hour round. I was at almost 4 hours and left on 12th hole. Great course but that was horrible! Won't be back for a while. 2 young guys on maintenance cart were sarcastic and rude!!!
Great Course
Everything you would expect a great course to have. Compared to most courses in the region, these guys know how to take care of a golf course. Fast greens, tee boxes were fine, grass was well tended and pace of play was perfect for our threesome. Can’t wait to play again, great job guys!
Pace of play ruined it
The problem with golf courses is greed all about how much money they can pull in. No quality anymore the Frog is no exception!!! The guy at the desk said they booked 177 people to play on a Wednesday!!!! It took 1hour and 35 minutes to play Par 4 and a Par 3. I left lost my money i paid because it would have been a 8 hour round. Herendous!! Never again! Bad thing I was going to get a membership...not anymore. Course is in great shape! Staff - cart girls very nice, 2 young boys on maintenance cart smart mouths and disrespectful! Management needs to do something or this will go back to a crappy course in no time.
Fun, Quality Course
Ive enjoyed The Frog for years. Its a gelreat layout, challenging for all skill sets, and most important, well maintained. Highly recommend.
Pristine conditions
I have played The Frog many times and it’s encouraging to see it returning to one the best public venues in metro Atlanta. Worth the drive to Villa Rica!!!
Frog Outing
The course is almost back to its previous pristine condition. The greens are in great shape. The fairways have a few drainage issues but even after four straight days of rain we didn’t have any major issues. The cart attendants were courteous and eager to help.
Hole no. 14 has a waste area that needs attention and it’s not marked as a hazard.
Overall, I look forward to playing it again.
The Frog is in good shape
I've played the frog a couple of times and this spring the course is in good shape. Greens have always been really soft when I play, but now they were rolling decently and were in nice condition. Teeboxes need work, but that is common in many public courses. The layout is always fun and not too difficult. I hope the good conditions will remain through the season.
The only weakness I have experienced every time playing the frog, is the pace of play. Based on my experience, the course has a tendency of stacking up on the back nine and I would like to see a marshall monitoring that there are no empty holes between groups.
Friday at the Frog
We enjoyed our recent round at the Frog.. Our foursome had each played it before, though not in 10 years at least. The course conditions were really good despite rain the day or two before. We moved around the course with no one in front of pushing us from behind and finished in less than 4.5 hrs. The greens were soft, but the ball rolled well. My only issue were the green side bunkers. All of us had a tough time getting out of them, but that just may because of our skill level. It's a long drive, but worth it. We'll be back.
