Augusta Municipal Golf Course - The Patch

Good course, but not something that I would frequent. Hard to get tee times, might get hit by a ball, staff not very welcoming. Over crowded, you’re going to get paired up with some golf bros. Great for your weekend golfers but the whole process and course gives me anxiety. Grass tees are never available for pre round warm up, nowhere to chip either. The grains are rockhard and very bumpy.I am hoping this is all temporary for a short time while the course is able to mature. I will try again during the weekday and see if it gets better in a few months. But overall, this is a huge improvement from the years prior.

Expect Great Golf Conditions but be mindful that the Greens are new and Hard in texture.

As time passes the course will be a Favorite place to play.

The Patch has to be the best municipal course in the country right now. The renovations have transformed this course into a premier facility. The community can be proud of. Getting a tee time is tough but definitely worth it! Conditions are amazing.

That said, we had a most unsettling experience on the final two holes. We had a 4 PM tee time. We finished in four hours, 15 minutes. This was despite waiting on virtually every shot, especially on the back nine. But that was not the problem. The problem was the insanely vulgar and angry guy behind us. He was hollering at us to hurry up the last two holes. Remember, we had to wait on every shot ourselves. Then he drove up to the green, cursing and screaming at us. I honestly thought he was going to fight the two guys I was paired with. I reported this guy‘s behavior to the staff before leaving. I hope the course does something to address this man. There is no place for riffraff on any golf course.

Unbelievable what they were able to do with this new Patch. I grew up playing the old patch and it’s hard to believe that this is the same course.

Great challenge, not too easy, not too hard!

The staff is fantastic! The practice range is wonderful. Very reasonable.

Multiple areas of the greens are irregular with patches of dead grass.

Multiple areas of poor grass coverage and bare areas in the fairways.

Tee boxes were not well - maintained.

I have played this course three times in the last five weeks. I will not go back. It is very inexpensive but still not worth it. When I went all of the greens were closed for reseeding. The “temporary greens “ were holes cut in the rough. Unputtable. The sprinklers were on during play so we had to dodge them. When I asked the staff why they did not alert us when we checked in they pointed to the printed sign on the desk and shrugged. I guess you get what you pay for. But I will not pay to play here again.

Course is in horrible condition! They said there sprinkler system was down. As we are on hole 7 the sprinkler system comes on and not only soaks me but soaks my golf cart. My clubs, bag, phone, wallet, and keys. Went up to ask for a rain check because we were having a good time and they told us NO in a very rude way. This place is poor

the coarse wasnt too bad, but i'm very surprised they play the masters here.

The course is always fun and pretty wide open. Pace of play is smooth and fairways were perfect today.

Wanted to give a better rating, but just couldn't. It only cost us $16 per person but worth it to pay more and go elsewhere. This course needs HELP. Fairways are in sad shape. Too bad.

You get what you pay for. If you just want to practice your shots, go got it. If you are looking for an enjoyable experience, look elsewhere.
