Oak Hollow Golf Course
About
Oak Hollow Golf Course is one of two municipally owned golf courses in High Point, N.C. This Pete Dye design is the newer and more popular of the two. The layout features several Dye signatures including pot bunkers and railroad ties but it's the small, undulating greens that are the most recognizable Dye trademark. The golf course has an interesting mix of holes, including several risk-reward opportunities. It's a course that will make you think, rewarding strategy and accuracy over might. The signature hole is the par-4 sixth. This 420-yard hole wraps around a lake with an island tee at the tips that will test the brave. Oak Hollow's toughest hole, though, is the 437-yard 11th, also a par 4. You'll need a perfectly placed tee shot and then after you're met with a triple-tiered green that sits along the water's edge.

Fun and challenging
This Pete Dye creation is a consistently fun and also a challenging layout for any golfer. Choose the appropriate tees for your skill level and enjoy your round. Condition of the course is better than average for a municipal.
Fun course built along Oak Hollow Lake
Well manicured course with some challenging holes.
The lake makes me fell cool
at the tee box or green some holes with lakes or lake views
it makes feel good especialy hot summerday greens roll true
nice lay out I like this course but I can't say this is great course
Very good design, bring every club in your bag!
Course conditions were great, greens are finally rolling true. Recommend for everyone, great Pete Dye design.
Good Course With Few Issues
The course is in good shape overall.
Greens are much slower than average, but not a real issue.
I was in a twosome that teed off at 1230 and finished by 330.
Plenty of water coolers on the tee box.
Not overly difficult for the low handicapper, but allows the opportunity for course strategy.
HARD golf course
The back tees on this course will give you all you want if you're looking for a challenge. Very few "gimme" holes. Better get a good score on the front, because the back 9 is simply survival. Still a great course.
Great Value
Beautiful Thursday afternoon. In spite of all the rain in NC the course was in very good shape. Great Pete Dye layout. Can recommend with confidence.
Great course, great value, very enjoyable. Coming back.
Noticed a "hot deal " for $12 with cart. "WOW". I have played here before and would have paid twice that amount. Range balls were good and you get a lot for your money. Course was in great shape, greens were slow for my standards but true. Very hilly course with demanding regulation shots to greens. Great layout with many beautiful holes in and around a lake. Look forward to coming back next year. Course was a little crowded in morning but thins out in afternoon. If you are playing first time some holes you will need to drive up fairway a little ways to see where the fairway bends, etc.
Gorgeous course and layout.
Liked the course very much. Had Beverage Cart that had reasonable prices. For most part course was in very good shape. There were areas that could use more grass. I will not return to the course again, however. The course had a ranger who patrolled regularly but obviously was not doing his job. I have NEVER seen such slow play. We gave up after 16 holes. At that point we had been playing for 4 hours and 40 minutes and play was continually getting slower.
Nice layout, great views of the lake
Another Pete Dye masterpiece! Not a long course but its well defended with undulating little elevated greens. The lake is not a problem unless you start spraying the ball. The fairway for the most part slopes to the lake,so you will need to move shots to the left or right.A great track.......bring all your shots, they may come in handy!
Fantastic Place To Play
This is a great course for the money. I really liked the design and it was very well maintained. Plus, there were absolutely gorgeous views around Oak Hollow Lake. I played on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't very busy at all. I'll definitely be back.
Course in excellent condition; great value on hot deals
Oak Hollow GC is in excellent condition. The tee boxes and fairways are pristine. The greens are good, but not great. Some greens were not consistent speed as others, which added to the challenge. If people would do a better job fixing ball marks the greens would be even better. This course has a lot of elevation changes, undulating fairways, and elevated green complexes.
The front 9 is very picturesque and the "easier" side. A few holes that run along the lake provide tremendous views. The back 9 is more challenging and the two par 5's on the back side might be two of the harder holes in the area with tight and severely sloped fairways and elevated greens.
Overall Oak Hollow is one of the top courses in the area, but you better bring your A game in order to score well.
No fivesomes please!!!
We were a twosome and as such do not expect to have the "right of way". We were told that a fivesome were in front of us and two twosomes behind them. The attendant said the fivesome would let us through. They did let one twosome through, but that was all.To make matters worse, carts were on path only and the golfers in the fivesome were terrible. At one time there were four groups on one five par at once. I stopped by the clubhouse after the almost five hour round to make a suggestion. There is a sign saying no fivesomes on weekends. I suggested that no fivesomes should be allowed when carts are on path only. The attendant responded that they "paid" more than we did????? I will not be back soon!
Even on a day after rain, the ball rolled well and the drainage was not as bad as I was told
I'm look forward to playing it on a dry day and take my previous 84 and getting more yards with roll than the plugs I occurred. Great challenging holes.
Great Layout
I've played Oak Hollow many times. This is great course layout. It just depends on the condition of the course and the pace of play. On this day, it took a Long time!!! This was Friday after the 4th, so the course was packed. Way too long to play. The course condition was pretty good considering how much rain has soaked the course. The greens were really slow on this day. Overall, I always recommend Oak Hollow and hopefully you'll be able to play in when its in top shape. When it is, there's not many more enjoyable.
Love Pete Dye courses.
Great course and will play it again. Love the challenge.
Beautiful, but challenging course.
Typical Pete Dye. Really fun course to play, but it will kick your butt if you try and get cute. Course was in great shape, though a little soggy because of all the rain the week of 4th of July...but that's not on maintenance. Great value for the money being sub-$40. Will definitely go back.
Tremendous experience
Even though we played after heavy rain, the course was still in very good shape. The course had great scenery and reasonable pin placements. I'd recommend the course to anyone. Keep in mind that it may be a tad difficult to walk this course, so a cart is preferable.
