Jamestown Park Golf Course

My Dad and I paired up with 2 regular golfers of the course. We all had a great time! Dad landed a "hole in one" on the first par 3 hole! Fairways and greens in very good shape.

Had a good time. Got paired with another couple who were a lot of fun.

Was able to afford to go thru golfnow. Hope to return.

Course is in excellent shape. Greens are fast and have serious break.

Course was in pretty good shape, you could tell that the greens had be aerated within the last month. Course was packed so, the pace was slower than expected. However, for the price and it being a Sunday, it was okay.

Overall a good course, and a decent enough layout to provide a little challenge. The greens are newer bermuda, so keep in mind they are hard and golf balls won't spin easily or stop quickly on most approach shots. The only bare spot I saw was the back of 15 green; that's gonna need some work, but just treat it as GUR and move on. I've worked at a course and been a member of a course that went through the bermuda green renovations, and I think these are coming along nicely. Give them another season or two of growth for the roots and they will start softening up and just get better. The tees and fairways are in good shape, and the staff was friendly. There wasn't a starter, but we still got paired up and teed off without an issue. I'll definitely be coming back at some point.

The course has been widened since the last time I played a few years back. The fairways and greens are in great shape. Overall well pleased.

For me it is all about the greens. They are in bad shape and have been painted green some with big bald spots. I was hoping to have a nice round because I have not played there in a few years, but that was just not possible again because of the greens. They just spent big bucks on a new club house and nothing on the course. Very disappointed.

Let me start by saying everything about this course was great except...the greens. I generally like bermuda greens better than bent grass, but these were so hard. I don't mean difficult. I mean "hard." A person playing in our group hit a towering high tee shot on a short par 3 landing about 5 feet from the hole only to have his beautiful shot roll completely off the green. That's not fun. Everything else was beautiful. Plan for a roll-out.

Play with some colleague from work, greens and fairways were in good shape! Enjoyed the new green designs. Had some challenging pin placement to enhance my game a little. And the new club house look is amazing!

Greens roll great for being new. Hard as a rock when hitting approach shots so you just need to adjust to that after a few holes. Fairways and tee boxes all in good shape. Staff is non-existent. Cashier inside takes your money with no directions after that. Fivesome out on a holiday afternoon with no staff seen all day. Hard to say service was bad, when there is none.

The course was in ok condition, but for the $39 to ride 18 it surely isn't worth it. Add to that the fact that the staff is a bunch of pretentious jerks and it set my round off with a very poor start; before I ever swung a golf club. The staff seems much more concerned with their own agenda than providing any level of customer service.

The tee boxes are garbage and the fairways aren't much better on several holes you are better off hitting into the ruff as there is more/better grass then in the fairway. The greens were in good shape and rolled nicely.

All said, I will not be back which is a shame as Jamestown used to be one of my favorite course in the area.

I live out of town and heard Jamestown Park had invested in new bermuda greens so I came to check them out. The greens were good but the rest of the course was a dump. I knew it wasn't going to be green yet but this was pathetic. Jamestown Park is an overpriced municipal course.

Winter conditions. This is a wonderful course. When the dormant grasses liven up, the course will be great. The layout is superb. The holes are varied and interesting. Errant shots are seldom punitive and may cost only half a stroke. You can chip out of the trees quite easily. The bunkers are well-placed and well maintained. Even now, the greens are fast and true. We really enjoyed our round. This is a great value.

I arrived looking for a wonderful golf experience for me and a bud, and they not only disappointed us but absolutely mortified us to the point where it probably left me psychological health issues.

The man behind the counter treated me as if I had just murdered his family. The staff there, most unfortunately, lacks the cognitive ability to use logic, or as some might say "common sense". I drove to the course with a valid drivers license in a real car on real roads and am 17 years old. However, apparently being able to drive a real car is not good enough to be able to meet their policy of being able to drive a golf cart. The amount of sense that makes is comparable to the amount of genuine sincerity we received from the staff.

The new greens are in great shape and roll really well. You must play the sloping fairways, they can make good tee shots not so good. Good course.

Course is great still some winter coat but soon will be perfection it's a great course. You have to go and the staff is really cool.

We paired up wit two other gentlemen and the course was already backed up. By the 2nd hole the manager came to us and said we needed to have 2 hrs 5 minutes for first nine, then came to us on #10 and said we were 2 hrs 40 minutes to play 10 holes. We felt harassed and there was no where to go with people in front of us. I used golf now for a hot deal and felt totally disrespected at this course. I will not go back there.
