About
Emerald Lake Golf Club is one of the Charlotte area's most popular public courses. True to its name, water is a prominent feature on the golf course. It's not just the water hazards that make this a tough course though. You'll be faced with strategically placed bunkers, sloped greens, and fairways tightly lined with trees. The golf course starts out gentle enough but by the time you get to the third hole, you'll be tested with a hole that plays right into the prevailing wind. This long narrow par 4 is one of the toughest holes Emerald Lake Golf Club has to offer. You'll get a brief break with the fourth hole, but the following par 5 is the signature hole. This risk-reward hole could result in a birdie if you play it smart, but if you go for the green in two and don't make it, you might be punished with a bogey

Good round
I booked the wrong date in error and luckily the staff was willing to accommodate letting us on with what sounded like an extremely busy day.
We were fortunate to play at a pace that was comfortable and didn’t hold up any other group behind us.
Only thing I didn’t understand was the cart situation. Maybe it is about limits to number of carts, but with Covid 19, most courses are requiring one person per cart. In emerald coves situation, they made it optional, but were actually charging for a second cart. That I don’t understand.
Course was in good shape.

April social distancing
The course was nice. The greens were aereated recently so they were bumpy.
All employees were friendly and helpful

Value not there!
We played the course before and enjoyed the layout. The price on the course was its normal price and all the greens were aerated. At most courses, you get a discounted rate. They charged regular rate with aerated greens. The two fellas we played with mentioned the same thing.

Golf Now Rio off
Golf was great but the golf now experience was horrible. Charged twice for the booking and no way to complain. Phones spokling messages and no option to leave a message or speak to someone. Won’t be using this again

Course conditions just okay, good customer service and amenities
Good course but looked a little shabby this time. May have been because of the Covid 19 situation with their labor guys not being available.

Very nice round
The course could have used 1 more day to dry out. A few spots were still a little muddy. But overall the course was in really good shape. I'm sure the guys playing the weekend were going to have a lovely time. out. I went out early so the course was still fairly open. First time on the course and I really liked the layout. I will definitely be back.

Swamp
Every fairway on every hole was a swamp. It’s like the course has zero drainage. Will never play here again

Great course
Great course for the value. Had heard previously the conditions can be shotty, but I was pleasantly surprise. Little wet from prior rain, but the fairways and greens played well! Will be back again.

I’ve played Emerald Lake twice in 3 days and have really enjoyed both rounds. The layout and facilities are great. The staff is on top of things for sure. There were some holes that were pretty muddy but overall I’d say the course was in good shape. I’ll be back for sure.

Staff Worthless
The guy at the pro shop desk argued with me over price saying I had not paid a partial amount on golf now. The rest of the staff stood around and looked at the ground whenever you drove by or walked by and needed direction. Enjoyed the course, but I have never been around a worse group of employees. If I was the owner/management I would clean house!!

This course needs months to dry out! They should close down and fix some of the fairways

Good being out!!!
Great to be outside and and have a tee time. The course was uber wet. I have to lift clean and replace in a semi dry spot on each shot. More drainage is desperately needed. The staff is all good and they have a great Watering hole, no pun intended. The greens were all in good shape. They are adding more parking with the pool, pool house, and old club house foundation removed. Likely the parking is for events. Hopefully the course will work on drainage in the near future.

DNP!!
Payed $40 and the course was at least 50% unplayable. First off, I completely understand this time of year there are poor conditions. My issue is don't charge that kind of money. It's worth $20 right now and that is stretching it. When I voiced my concern, I was told that is what Olde Sycamore charges and it's in tht same shape.

Not worth it.
Course is in horrendous condition. Should not even be open for play. Needs at least a month of dry weather with no golfers. Worth about $15 - $20 as is. About 75% of the course is under water.
