Love The Layout
Stonebridge is a great course that's a little out of the way, but well worth your time. I really like the layout and routing of the course. There is a great mix of holes that wind their way through wooded areas and others that wide open. Some holes require lay ups or accurate tee shots, while others let you swing away with the driver. Golfers of all levels will enjoy this course when playing from the appropriate tee box. Water comes into play on a few holes on the back 9. The tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. The greens were a little beaten up from a long, hot, dry summer. There were a few thin spots on some of them, and you could tell there had been a lot of traffic on them on this particular Sunday. Pace of play was fine. I played as a single and played through a couple of groups of dads and their sons on the front 9, and then didn't catch anyone until the 18th hole. The pro shop and outside staff couldn't have been nicer. Stonebridge has an outstanding practice area located across the road from the clubhouse. There is a tunnel to get you from the parking lot to it.
Course knowledge
Course knowledge is very important. The starter gave us first timers to the course a layout book that helped tremendously. Placement here is the key to low scores. Driver use is limited for the long ball hitters. Bunkers were is great shape. Beautiful course . Fairways could not have been better. Greens were well manicured
Great value if you book on Golf Now
This course was great. It is quite a drive from uptown but probably worth the extra fuel. Greens were in good shape and the fairways were certainly above average. Sneaky hazards in front of greens are tough to see from tee boxes. After a long day, I finished with a birdie on 18...will definitely be back.
Good golf course
I play here a lot. Great condition, but can be a little slow due to amount of play. Good price value. Challenging, but fair to all skill levels.
Stonebridge Review
Great layout, have played this course many times, always in good condition, Great Pro Shop with tons of College and Pro Gear.
Wish I lived closer
I live an hour away with moderate to heavy traffic. I play here 15-20 times a year, but would play at least once a week if it was closer.
Almost everything is "in front of you". No tricks or hidden pitfalls. You get the results you deserve.
greens are 90% back
The greens are healing up nicely after aeration several weeks ago... rolling very well, true and moderately fast. Fairways are greening up as well as the tee complexes...
Played on discount
We picked up a discount because the greens had been aerated two weeks prior and still have a few issues. Course Management not only cut the rate but also gave us a $3.00 off coupon for later use. Greens were really not that bad, but weather had made the course cart path only. Pace of play was good for a Friday mid morning. Course can be a challenge, can't pull driver on every hole.
Arrogant and unappreciative of the business
My brother and his wife were visiting from Colorado. The day before we had played at Springfield GC in Fort Mill. Service there was outstanding -- they truly appreciated whatever business they could attract in early February. At Stonebridge, decent weather brought out the crowds. Instead of being appreciative, the guys behind the front desk seemed aggrevated and annoyed. We weren't regulars, and their demeanor was cold and patronizing. We decided what the heck, things could only get better. We were wrong. Long story short, the pace of play was brutal, the absolute worst. After 14 holes ands five+ hours, we called it a day. In short, while the layout is nice enough, it doesn't compensate for a couple of goons at the front desk, or the fact that they're unwilling or unable to manage the speed of play.
Great Course, Great Value, Friendly Staff!
This course is a gem! A great mix of challenging holes and interesting water hazards without being too intimidating for the novice golfer. Very nice driving range with dedicated chipping and pitching areas. From pro shop, to starters, to cart staff, to 19th hole, the friendly staff seal the deal.
