Hot day but great golf
We teed off in the heat of the day and it was HOT. We thoroughly enjoyed the round and the pace of play was great. The course layout is great and not to difficult. We will be back soon.
Great for the Money
Nice greens, fun layout , Donald Ross front 9 . I enjoy it every time I play. The greens can be tight and fast during these hot days of summer but are always in pretty good shape.
I enjoy Monroe GC
I did enjoy today's round except for the (2) 5-somes that were ahead of me. The 5-some right ahead of me would offer to let me play through, so I chose to skip a hole and jump ahead after the turn and half of them went in the clubhouse and half went to 10. Then there was at least 1 that hit a few tee shots. It was painfully slow at that point. The second 5-some did allow me to play through and it was appreciated.
Love the traditional design
I was excited to find out that tucked away was a Donald Ross design golf course, even if it was just the front nine. Pace of play on a weekend was great, more courses need to go back to classic design features like this course. It’s not the longest course but it is challenging. Fairways are in great shape during heat of the summer for the most part. This really is the hidden gem like other havevv BBC said in Charlotte
Great Fun
I am a new golfer and enjoy the challenge of this course. This course offers a good amount of shade throughout which is a definite plus in the heat. Friendly staff, carts are always clean. I would recommend this course whether you are a newbie to the game or a seasoned golfer!
Great municipal course
MCC is a hidden gem. The course is in great shape and the layout is beautiful. The premiere golf club in Union County.
Summer Golf
The course was in great shape, great tee boxes, greens, tee boxes, pace of play, unlike some other nearby courses. The temperature and wind made it a perfect day. They do a good job, but the staff is not overly interested in what they do. Good luck finding the range. How about 1 or two more signs? If you do plan to go to the range add 10 minutes round trip. Nonetheless, a great summer time day of golf is waiting for you!!!
Information
When I booked tee time I was expecting to play all 18 holes. Turned out back 9 was closed and had to play front 9 twice. Luckily the course wasn't crowded and was able to turn back nine without having to wait. In the future suggest courses should make note on booking about situations like this. If I had known, I would not have booked.
Only 9 holes open in the morning
When I checked in the person in the shop quickly mentioned about only 9 holes being open, so I told them there was no mention on the website about the maintenance last Mon when I reserved it and there is still NO MENTION at this time a couple of hours after I finished playing. They had only the front 9 open in the morning and they were going to close the front in the afternoon to work on that side.
