About
Nags Head Golf Club has a traditional Scottish-links layout that is right at home on the windswept terrain of the Outer Banks. Situated along the Roanoke Sound, the rugged coastline and rolling sand dunes perfectly mimic a classic links landscape. The golf course is a shot maker's layout that will test your skills but it is still player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. You'll need a sharp short game for sure, but you won't need much length on this rather short layout. Some form of water appears on nearly every hole, including some holes that play right along the Sound, and the undulating greens can be tough. It's a challenging-but-fun round that is worth playing for the scenery alone. Unsurprisingly, Nags Head Golf Club is one of the most popular golf courses in the OBX.

Beautiful golf outing at Nags Head Golf Links
My first time visiting Nags Head, nice quiet relaxing week, my brothers and I really enjoyed playing Nags Head Golf Links. Very nice golf course with a challenging layout. This is a must play golf course if you’re in the area.

Fantastic views
This is a wonderful course with many spectacular views and interesting shots. The day was very windy so there were not too many people on the course and we did not have to wait for others to play. This we finished 18 a little after 3 hours. If you have a straight ball, you should play well. If you have a ball that curves, bring many extra golf balls

short notice golf
Was able to get tee time and play at reasonable rate. Course was in good shape, not crowded and weather was perfect! Would play Nags Head Links again.

Should have told us about aeration!
I play this course 4 to 5 times a year. Normally a good value considering the views, course layout and conditions. This time, I felt cheated on that enjoyment. Either GolfNow failed to post aeration warning and/or the golf course didn't care to. There weren't recently punched so maybe that's why GolfNow didn't have it but the golf course didn't do all they could to make putting less of a game of plinko. They could have dressed the sand filled holes are he same height as the putting grass surface to lessen the craters and roll the greens for a smoother surface. Neither existed. What a shame. I WOULD NOT HAVE PAID TO PLAY KNOWING THESE CONDITIONS.
I do recommend the course but wait 2 to 3 weeks for this to heal unless they fix it.

Used to be a Great experience
Luckily took advantage of a hot deal, but couldn't imagine anyone would be happy paying @100 when greens were punched recently without advisement. Gentleman in pro shop didn't let us know either, but he was not pleasant to interact with overall I guess since we were visitors. Cart staff was very friendly and apologized. Restaurant/Snack bar was inoperable on this date, and the pro shop had zero provisions in lieu of this, and again gentleman in pro shop was put out that I even asked. Overall the clubhouse building/bathrooms/etc needs some TLC as well and a proper cleaning.

Course in good shape with the warning about the greens aerification
The course had posted a notice about the greens being aerated so knew what to expect in that area. Everything else on the course was in good shape and enjoyed the round except the last few holes when the wind picked up considerably and added to the challenge but that's Ma Nature on the Outer Banks.

Great soft greens!!!!
Paid 115 for 750 tee times! Well worth the money! Windy day! Sound side holes were rough! Course in great shape! Greens were some of the softest well kept greens I’ve ever seen! Kinda quick! Well worth the money!!
