Nags Head Golf Links

Played this course with my dad and was paired up with a father and son. We showed up early to hit some range balls so we were disappointed that the range was members only. We also thought the clubhouse staff was a little rude and not helpful. The starter and bag handler were friendly. The course is challenging and in good shape. Probably could use some more length but the narrow fairways made it challenging. I would play again but will likely find another course next time I am in the area

Second time playing the course and just as much fun as the first time. Course is tough with the winds off the sound. Weather was too hot but the breeze from the sound made it more bearable. Will definitely play it again when we come back next year!

Interesting course that weaves through an upscale neighborhood. Course was in very nice condition and many holes right along the water. The course can be tight in spots and not all that long, 6,200 from the tips. Pace was a little slow but hey it’s high season

Very nice course but you may need to have someone in your group who is familiar with the layout.

All four of us were first-timers and could have scored better.

I played the course while on vacation, after having helped my daughter move from one apt. to another two days and 300 miles earlier. I was very tired, and wasn't able to get past the 10th hole without conking out. Up to that point, however, I found the course to be a lot of fun, and in great shape, despite recent torrential rains (cart path only, plus driving range was washed out). Miss the fairway and the rough is brutal--high, links-type grass like the British courses have. Greens were in great shape. Lots of water holes. A couple of blind tee shots on front nine. Scenery is terrific. Staff was cordial. Not a bad price, either, for a 'vacation' course. Recommended. Played from the blue tees (should have been the whites, but the other guys I was paired with were shooting from the blues. Peer pressure!) Age: 65.

Short but challenging course. Tight driving on holes make it a good test. Course is in excellent shape.

Great course snd pace of play - no beverage service on course on Sunday afternoon only disappointment

I played this course twice while visiting OBX on vaca. +1 handicap. While the course is relatively short, as others have said it is pretty narrow but still has a fun layout. However, the pace of play on both days was atrocious. 5+ hour rounds on both occasions and all the ranger did was apologize but did nothing to speed up play. The greens were ok but quite beat up as it seems no one knows how to fix a ball mark there. The grass on the tee boxes is way too long, causing near flyers on the par 3s which is unacceptable given the price. The fairways are eaten up in a bunch of areas but this is likely due to the goose prevalence as they were out eating away throughout the round. The second day I played with my brother and we were between 2 groups of foursomes and we got hit into from behind on about every other hole. Eventually we said something when they hit 2 balls past us in the fairway but still - not really acceptable in the first place. Overall it’s a decent track for vacationers but that’s about it. The other choices are limited and you’d have to drive off the island to play any other worthwhile course. The staff was very friendly inside so that was about the only highlight of the course..

The driving range balls are reduced flight. The course was completely cart path only. It had rained 12-14 hours previously, but the course was bone dry. There was no reason for the cart path only.

Beautiful coastal water views and well maintained course. Coastal winds and strategically placed hazards make this course challenging, but very enjoyable for players that want to play a strategic game. Not a grip it and rip it course, so plan your shots appropriately and take in the great views.

First time playing and enjoyed my round. For the price to get an early tee time it is pretty steep given the course. It is nice but it still leaves you wanting a little more given the price point. Greens were super soft (not complaining) and the fairways in good shape. Did not have a chance to use the range. Given the views and options in the area I get why they charge so much. It is target golf on most holes. We were the second group out and play in under four hours. I would play again and probably still pay the inflated early tee time price just to beat the heat and avoid a four plus hour round.
