About
Nags Head Golf Club has a traditional Scottish-links layout that is right at home on the windswept terrain of the Outer Banks. Situated along the Roanoke Sound, the rugged coastline and rolling sand dunes perfectly mimic a classic links landscape. The golf course is a shot maker's layout that will test your skills but it is still player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. You'll need a sharp short game for sure, but you won't need much length on this rather short layout. Some form of water appears on nearly every hole, including some holes that play right along the Sound, and the undulating greens can be tough. It's a challenging-but-fun round that is worth playing for the scenery alone. Unsurprisingly, Nags Head Golf Club is one of the most popular golf courses in the OBX.

Short play
The only reason we brought are clubs was to play this corse and was kicked off after only three holes due to a storm and was not offered a refund or The voucher to return. The course was overbooked very slow play. On the Plus side the staff was friendly and the course looked amazing!

No refund
Corse looks awesome we only played three holes and was taking off the cores for a storm! We where givent a refund or a voucher to return and play!!

First visit to the course
The greens were excellent. This course is extremely tight, more so than necessary in spots. Make sure you bring a lot of golf balls.
The club rental was expensive and the pro shop wouldn’t guarantee clubs be available when the tee time was booked.

Not worth the price
Wouldn’t golf again. I had a friend going with me but they told him he can’t golf with my set of clubs. Rentals were $60. Guy at golf club was rude, golf cart barely worked. The parking brake on the cart wouldn’t work either. For the price of the course you would think they’d have their carts working fine. Driving range is foam balls… The course was nicely kept but it was super short and target golf. The only holes to really use a driver are the very few par fives. The pace of play was super slow, it was play a hole and wait 10 minutes to play the next. Wouldn’t recommend especially since the price.

Very few golf options on the OBX
This course was a tad pricey and had to drive 1.5 hours each way but had a great time. Wind was down which was both a blessing (keep ball in play) and a curse (super hot). OBX not best choice for vacationing golfers but if you have the urge this is the place :)

Beautiful layout
Booked as a single. Arrived to a more than friendly bag guy. Set me up with a cart quickly. Went into the pro shop. Found a not so friendly pro shop worker. Seemed like i was putting him out signing up. Asked if i could hit some range balls. His answer was he didn’t have any as cold as if i asked him for a loan. The starter was very friendly as i got out earlier than booked. Course was in great shape the greens were amazing outside of the fact that no one seems to fix ball marks these days not the clubs fault. . The course ranger made a few visits to check on us. Played in about 4 hrs. Course is short but challenging. Will play again in the future. 19th hole bar tender was friendly and alert. Over all worth the price.

Over Booked
Reserved a higher priced morning round only to start 20 minutes later than tee time and still had to wait at every hole....6 hour round!
