About
River Ridge Golf Club is one of the finest public golf courses in Raleigh. The course sprawls across 100 acres in the heart of the Triangle, it's an easy 15-minute drive from downtown Raleigh. The lush green of the course contrasts beautifully with the Carolina blue skies. Mature trees frame most of the holes and there are a few lakes that come into play. The rolling terrain provides plenty of ups and downs throughout the golf course. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The course's signature hole is the par-4 fifth, a 375-yard hole that can be conquered with smart play. Try to keep your long iron or fairway wood to the right of the fairway, which will give you a short iron approach into the green.

Great course, pace of play can be a problem
As someone who recently relocated to Wake Forest River Ridge is becoming one of my favorite courses. The course is challenging enough to keep it interesting and not too gimicky The greens were in great shape and rolled pretty quick. Depending on the time of day you get out pace of play can be an issue. We did find ourselves waiting on a few holes for groups in front of us, but that is somewhat to be expected on a Friday afternoon when the weather is beautiful. I would definitely recommend.
Nicely designed course
Well placed hazards and scenic, good course to test your mettle
Fast greens, some tough holes
First time playing this one and I’ll be returning soon! Well maintained throughout. Tasty food at the clubhouse.

Excellent Course
It is excellent and challenging course to play. One needs local knowledge to birdie in some holes.
Great course, too many people
The course was in incredible shape for the number of people playing the day we played. We were waiting every hole and the people behind us were playing right up on us. It was a club, however, so the prices were paid were probably higher
Slow Play
Took 4 1/2+ hrs on a Wed. afternoon...ridiculous...no ranger in sight.
Course is in great condition....could use a little more sand in the bunkers.
Superb value for money & welcome too
Cannot say enough about my experience with River Ridge whilst in the USA, as not only is the practice facilities very useful & in great condition, but overall the course was too.
The course is both undulation, challenging for all levels & pleasing to the eye.
I have the pleasure of playing with 3 no. members that not only made me feel welcoming, but offered first class advise whilst playing.
Would i return to River ridge when next in the Rayleigh area ? MOST DEFINITELY
