Love playing here
Always have a fun time if I come out with buddies, or if I get paired up. The staff is great and can’t wait to see the new renovations!
Poorly maintained and managed
Greens are very rough with ingrowths of weeds.
Pace of play is very slow with many beginning golfers and large groups.
Players typical either don’t know or ignore the rules of play.
Carts are not allowed on holes that are perfectly dry.
Renting cart is a waste of money given the above.
Sharing carts
I have played here many times and enjoyed the course. However this time, I did not play because although I had prepaid for the cart, they wanted me to share it. That is unacceptable to me because I might not complete the full 18 holes and want to leave early. Also I do not want to catch something from an unknown person by sitting next to him for upto 5-6 hours.
They should state clearly on their website if they have such a change in policy.
I will not play there again, until I can get my own cart that I already paid for.
Great old track
RGA is a Raleigh classic. It has a fair layout, beautiful tree lined fairways and well maintained turf and greens. Robert runs a great staff whose friendly demeanor makes it a happy place. Try this place out. You won’t be disappointed.
evil greenskeepers
typical after usopen golf course habit of putting the pins in the most ridiculous locations on every green made this an extremely horrid putting day... put it right on the knoll/behind a trap a couple holes each side...but every hole y'all?
Soggy
Wet day on a not too challenging course. Only completed 8 holes before lightening stopped play. Course is in good condition except for ingrowth on greens.
Great course for the cost
The greens were quite good in terms of grass health, but there were a lot of pitch marks all over them.
Highlight of an OK trip
In NC for a medical emergency. Was able to get away to play this round. Nice layout for an intermediate player. The greens were in ok condition some weeds popping up. Overall great experience and play for a rainy day.
Been Awhile
I used to frequent this course years ago and after coming back from a 4-5 year break, I was blown away with the course. Greens are still slow, but super pure. Perfect course for anyone looking to get started in the game!
good day for golf
Staff super nice and course was very playable, greens were also very nice. Enjoyed the round.
Nice Practice Course
This course is a gem but expect backups on nice days because the price is so good!
