The course is fun to play
The course is fun to play with a great finish par 3 par 5 par 3 par 5. The staff is great and the rangers keep a good pace of play. Not the toughest course that you can play but fun for all skill levels.
A great course with some challenging holes
I had gone on a wet day, so I can't give the greens a proper review, but my puts all rolled well. There was one green that seemed like it has seen better days, i think it was 13 or 14, but I still putted well on it. Fairways looked nice and the overall feel of the course was good. I will definitely come back and play again on a dryer day.
Well maintained and interesting course
Wil-Mar is one of my favorite courses to play when I'm not playing my home course. The holes are interesting and a decent challenge for the typical golfer.
This course has agreat layout
I really enjoyed the challenging. The front nine was very forgiving with the openess.
A great coarse for the average golfer.
I played this coarse early January and the greens were in great shape. This coarse has three par 3's and three par 5's on the back 9 that makes it a bit unusual. It's not long but requires good shot making and strategy to score well. The staff was friendly and the starter was getting groups off at a good pace even though there was a frost delay that morning.
Wil-Mar Golf Course
This course is a great value for the money. Course is well maintained and greens are quick and challenging. Staff is friendly and courteous.
Many recent improvements!
All the recent improvements have really changed the look and feel of the course for the better. The new greens and natural waste areas are fantastic and the clearing of old trees and brush around many holes have really opened up the course. Looking forward to many more rounds at Wil-Mar!
Good Value and Maintenance For Public Course
I've been here a few times this season. A very solid public course with good maintenance, and a great staff. Bermuda greens are in great shape this fall. I wish some other local budget courses would put in this kind of effort. Layout is straightforward. Not completely boring, but not exciting either. A couple of nice holes. But really, if you are a mid-high hand capper, and want to get a lot out of your dollar, this is a very good choice.
All around good deal
Wilmar is a very well kept course and is challenging but not brutally unforgiving. The greens are in great shape excluding a portion of one. What I value most about this facility is the friendliness and appreciation shown by every employee I have ever dealt with there. Great course, greater people.
Worth the money
Worth the money. Very decent. Super nice people. Will definitely play again.
Family owned - accommodating staff - great for high handicaps and beginners
This course is a value course. I.e. Chevy Cavalier or Ford Focus.....low cost golf. It reminds of the first course I learned to play. With bermuda greens, it is better than prior year's beginner course use to be. It plays a little slow at times because it accommodates new and high handicap golfers--but golf needs more players so where else can you learn. It has some rough patchs like a biginner course would like tee boxes, but you still have to put the ball in the hole no matter the condition or length. Greens are not always flat so as the new greens take root they will be able to speed of greens and make it challenging even for better players. Mostly I've revisted to help support golf at the grassroots level and help keep these places in business for new golfers. Down home folks who are generally friendly and love the game...................
The course was in good shape. Always enjoy playing there.
You can not beat it for the money. You pay your green fee, then play as much as you want. We played 21 holes and only paid 15 each through golfnow.
The course is a good challenge for me as a beginner. Like the features and is always well maintained.
Love the course, challenges me just enough. The staff are super friendly which is one of the reasons I keep going back.
enjoy the course!
It was quite a ride from Cary but we found this was extremely family orientated course. All the staffs were very nice and made you feel like home. Was not a long course but enough water and bunkers. very good price! I would recommend this to anyone.
Not too shaby
Wil-mar is excellent if your learning or taking a few nubbies out. Course can get crowded and greens aren't ever top of the line but not a bad value for the price. Greens fee is for all day most days so the value can't be beat
Not a bad track.
It was rainy and wet the day I played, but the course was in decent shape. For a family run public course I think they do a great job with it.
Great Play
It is a fun course, tough enough and well maintained.
Great features..good price.
Needs some work...especially bunkers and greens. A good short course to play and lower handicapp.
annoying course marshal
Course was fine, some of the staff are kind of old and grumpy. It's a shame really, this course is close to home and would like to visit often. I may give it a few more tries. We left after 15 holes because the course marshal wouldn't leave us alone.
