Played the Lake course at Carolina Trace. The layout and views on the lake are awesome. Course is in good condition and there wasn't many people playing maybe due to the $106 price which is high for the area. I really enjoyed the course and will play it again.

Played the lake course. It was awesome. Definitely great value for the money.

The course was not what we expected for the price. Charging $125 on Saturday and not having a single cooler of water on the course is kinda unheard of. The greens were in great shape but this course was not what we expected for the price paid.

This is a very nice course. Challenging layout with many elevation changes. Course knowledge is at a premium. Unfortunately, there is no course map on the scorecard nor is there a sign at the tee box to explain the hole. We basically played it blind. Having some course knowledge would have saved us at least six strokes each. Some areas of the course are bare from high traffic and are unsightly. For the money, I would expect it to be a bit more beautiful and manicured. But the greens are the star. They are smooth, fast and true. A bit difficult to master but I would much rather play these than most of the greens at other courses. Definitely recommend playing this track.

The greens are very good. The tee boxes were terrible. Broke my tee trying to place in ground. Needed a hammer. Many of the fairways were almost bare, very hard, scared from the mowing. This course needs better care, more water. The greens were good but very firm.

Got the opportunity to play here and it is one of the nicest and most well maintained courses I’ve found. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Met the superintendent while I was playing my round. Everyone wanted to make sure that I was enjoying the course.

The greens were legitimately perfect.

The course has very good terrain and has some very nice holes. Very good test of golf. The course was in decent shape and greens were pretty good. Overall, the course is in good shape but it is just a bit old and tired. It needs a good tree trimming as some trees have encroached and is hurting some turf areas. If the course were to do an “update” and a few nips and tucks here and there it would be a very high quality course.

I’ve probably played this course 20 times, and used to be one of my favorites. This was the first time I’ve played in the last year or so, and it was horrific. The tee boxes were shot, just weeds and dirt. The fairways looked like the firebombing of Dresden just happened, but somehow we’re also really shaggy? And the greens, clearly someone decided to aerate without checking the weather report because they were blown out and trashed.. It was like putting through a minefield.

So that all sucked because this course has a great layout and conditions used to be fantastic…oh and it used to be $70-$90. Now they’re charging $165 on GolfNow for a terrible mini course basically.

All that said, the staff is great, the layout is great and the par 3s are some of the most fun in the area by a mile. Too bad they ruined the course with poor upkeep and management. Maybe the superintendent got a better job. Who knows but not worth playing there anymore.

First time playing a full course in a while. Not overly challenging, but it’s not a cake walk. Breathe taking views, and challenging elevation changes.

Enjoyable round on the Lakes course. Pace of play and green condition was very good. Tee boxes and fairways were just average. Good course if you pay $60 and not $100 like I did.

I love the course, but the price increase is not justified. Don't get me wrong, the course is in good condition. But just not GREAT. For the new weekend price of $125, I would expect GREAT.

That said, it's a great track. Good pace of play. The staff is very friendly!

Played Lakes. Pretty layout. I think for the condition of the course, it’s not a $150 list, $125 hot deal. It’s a $50-$60 course. the range was dirt only. my index says 6 but i think i play like a 10. Even at peak late June I don’t see grass coming into a lot of bare spots on the course.
