Lake at Carolina Trace Country Club

Played Lakes. Pretty layout. I think for the condition of the course, it’s not a $150 list, $125 hot deal. It’s a $50-$60 course. the range was dirt only. my index says 6 but i think i play like a 10. Even at peak late June I don’t see grass coming into a lot of bare spots on the course.

We enjoyed the Lake course immensely! Fun and forgiving course with plenty of challenges but very fair. Great value!

Need to enforce pace. Played here twice and both times took 4 hours 45 minutes. Course is nice, but even twosomes are playing obnoxiously slow.

Pros: The upkeep and the course it’s self is amazing. Fun course that your that’s challenging for intermediate players yet forgiving for the novice. Beautiful views of the lake on several holes and you feel like you’re Snow White with the friendly wildlife that ventures up to you while you look for that ball you just shakes off into the woods.

Cons: The course is definitely overbooked for the weekends. There’s no starter to make sure people aren’t skipping ahead and no marshal to regulate pace of play. Nothing against the elderly but they really slow down the play. We don’t need Jerry Bob Cooter and his band of merry misfits from the VFW taking 3 shots each off the tees that only travels a hundred yards to pull out a range finder while you’re still 300 out. Charlie ain’t in them trees Jerry!!!

If you can with stand 5hr games this course ain’t half bad.

Enjoyed our round at Caralina Trace - Lake course. Its a great layout with a variety of holes which bend right and left and vary in elevation. Par 3s are awesome. Two play severely downhill, one is a big uphill test and the 12th which is a visually intimidating hole surrounded by water on 3 sides. Course conditions were ok given the time of year. Fairways were dormant and a little wet. Greens are great! Subtles breaks and good speed.

Older style clubhouse. The Pub was not open Sunday (???). Not much staff around but person tending the Proshop was helpful and friendly. Golf carts are aweful! Who uses gas powered carts?

Would like to come back in a couple months when the dormant grass greens up. Recommend the course.

Overall course was in great condition! Wind was blowing 17 mph with that being said course still played very fair! Hands down one of my favorite course to play in the area. I will definitely be back!

The two Par 3’s on the front nine are dramatic downhill holes that are the most severe I’ve seen in the area.

The initial par 3 on the back nine is a visual masterpiece with the lake in background playing downhill it is tough to trust the yardage.

The last par 3 is the only one up hill and allows you to gain your senses back as you make it back to the 19th hole.

The rest of the course is well-designed and requires you to golf your ball.

The course was in good shape for winter golfing. Fairways are not over seeded, dormant Bermuda. Greens were in good shape for this time of year. Great course during the summer months. I always enjoy playing here.
