Much Improved
I've played Quail Ridge fairly often over the years just for the low price, decent greens and the course layout. I always overlooked the less than ideal fairway conditions because of that low price.
Now, however, the course is in better shape than I've seen it in years. Grass everywhere, and it's kept mowed nicely. No summer burn areas on the greens. Bunkers are worked on a regular basis.
Overall, it's the best deal around and you don't have to spend all day to get around it, the players there move pretty fast. I have walked 18 there many times in 3 hours.
Is it in Country club condition? No. But for what it is, it's pretty good these days.
I'd say come check it out and you'll change your opinion on Quail Ridge.
Excellent course
Excellent course, great fairways, the greens are quick, pace was ok, we did have some slow downs at some points. Some of the cart paths were washed out, but they are constantly improving and laid some new asphalt down since the last time we played there. The grill folks were super nice, called in order at the turn, it was ready when we got there. Grab a few napkins, the sandwiches are large.
Cart paths are washed out
The course it self was nice, greens recently plugged. The cart paths a washed out in many areas and not enough directional signs, went the wrong way several times.
Great stop in the Sandhills
I have played here three times now and each time I enjoy the course. The layout has elevation changes, varying green sizes and nice green undulation (except hole number 2 which needs to be redone). The greens were a touch slow but likely due to recent maintenance. There were some significant brown/burned up spots in the fairways and rough that could be improved upon. The fairways have little roll so the yardage plays a tough longer than expected. Overall a good place to grab a round.
Hidden Gem in Sanford
Living in southern Wake County, I never thought to travel 40 mins south to Sanford to play a round of golf. After living in the area for over 15 years, I finally made this short trek and I'm so glad that I did. Quail Ridge is a hidden gem! It was a great value and the conditions were great, though they punched the greens earlier this week. I recommend this course and plan on heading back there soon.
Great course, worth the hour plus ride to get there
The only bad part was, there were 2 6 player groups ahead of us slowing down the play, otherwise, this is a great course.
Nice course for the money
Facelift and new owners/mgmt. has made this a fun golf course again. I'll be back.
Hidden Gem of Sandhills
Excellent course for the money, always in great condition and the course layout is fun and challenging. One of my favorite courses to play in the area for the money and quality of the course.
Good course great rate.
A quiet day and exceptionally hot. That didn't stop us from enjoying what was an excellent experience from registration to the end of the round.
Course was in great condition and the tees and greens were also in great condition.
Thank you for a wonderful day out. We will be back when we return to the Sandhills.
Hi
Made to feel so welcome
Excellent service on arrival. Tee boxes, fairways and greens in great shape. W'ell worth a visit..
Put this on your must play list.
Impressed
A bit of a drive from Southern pines but worth it. If I move closer I will be joining. Over-seeded fairways greens. Perfect bunkers 5 stars
Hidden Gem!!
Being from Greensboro and a frequent visitor to the Sandhills Region I had seen the sign many time but just never thought about playing at Quail Ridge. Well now all that has changed! Great Lay-out to challenge any golfer, great challenging green complexes and plenty of elevation changes. Our group could not say enough about it!!! Will be in the traveling rotation that’s for sure..
