About
Dan Maples, architect of the nationally acclaimed Pit Golf Links, has created another masterpiece only minutes from the Village of Pinehurst. Longleaf Golf & Family Club was formerly the site of Starland Farms, for years the training ground of some of the country's top thoroughbreds. As a tribute to its colorful history, Maples incorporated some of the features and flavor of the old facility into the golf course, including part of the fence and training track. The front nine at Longleaf was designed in the Scottish open style with subtly rolling fairways.The back nine, in contrast, is heavily tree-lined and dramatically elevated. Ron Whitten of Golf Digest called Longleaf "...the most playable course in Pinehurst."

Very Nice
I have played this course many of times, they have done a great job with it since the US Kids took over. Great greens, they roller very true and quick. ( just the way I like them ). The fairways maybe wet in a few spot, but that should not ruin your game. Frank the cart guy always has a great personality as well as Dan in the Pro shop. Check out the burgers on Thursday nights for they are half off.
Nice course
Course was in great shape except for the traps. Traps need sand and need worked up. Greens were really nice and most t boxes were in good shape. The ground on a few t boxes was very hard due to lack of water. Hard to put t in ground a few times.
Nice and fun course
I gave 5 stars but this course is more like
4.5/5 course.
Greens were pretty fast and fair ways were in great condition.
Tee boxes are very flat and great condition.
Only complaint that I had was its bunkers. Some had
nice sand in them but others were somewhat very
hard and needed some sand (I am talking about bunkers
around greens as some of its bunkers on fairways are hard bunkers that a cart can drive through)
Great outing
Visiting with my son while he was on leave from the Air Force, decided to take a drive to this area. We got great rates through Golf Now. We couldn't have been happier with the course. Weather was hot but a breeze was blowing. Pace was a bit slow but expected as much. The worst part of the day was traffic coming into the course and leaving the area. We will definitely be back.
Played in 2hrs
Nice course and a great deal. Played with friend in 2hours. Greens were in good shape and liked the layout. Not a lot of trouble but challenging. Great little bar and friendly service as well.

Greens were great...course is a great value. Will play again.
Longleaf Golf Club
Golf course was perfect! Tees Sand Bunkers, Fairways and GREENS were absolutely perfect. We teed off at 1:30 and played in 3 and 1/2 hrs. If there was any issue it would have been the Pin Placements. Which were either Very Front or Back of the greens. I will return and I do recommend this course. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great course
We just played 36 holes today’. This place is perfect. The greens are immaculate: They are fast but fair. If people complain about this course they are insane. Just about perfect. I am convinced that some people will complain about anything. Great staff, great course. If you have a problem with this place, the problem is you!

We’re visiting from Kansas City. I loved your course! Went on a Thursday. $6.00 burger day. Played 9, had lunch, and finished the day! It was really fun!
This Course is overbooked
Very dissatisfied, booked round for 2 and was told that I was being paired up with 2 nine year old players. I was expecting a great round of golf, and in reality did not even hit one ball. Over booked course and the little surprises they do not mention after taking your money.
