Talamore Golf Resort

Talamore is a fine course. With the exception of the premiere Pinehurst courses, (Pinehurst Resort, Mid Pines, etc), Talamore is better than most you will find in the area. However, the course is way overpriced for what it is. Green fees were $129 for an afternoon round in October. I’ve played many, many courses for far less that we’re much better courses. Their fees are what they are because it is in Pinehurst, and that’s really the only reason. But worse, even at a $129 rate, they had the audacity to charge for range balls. Not kidding. Overpriced fees aside, the course was in good shape. Conditions of the tees, fairways, and greens were far better than what you’ll find at places like Southern Pines, Whispering Pines, or Foxfire type courses. Even during drought conditions, fairways were lush. Greens were very good. It’s a nice course, but I would only play it in the off-season unless you don’t mind paying $130+ for a round of golf.

Good experience! Second time playing the course and was drier weather this time so much more enjoyable. Lots of elevation changes and challenging greens. Par 3s were my favorite. A good tee shot/approach is a must -getting up and down for par is tough! The course was in good shape, tee to green. Very nice and helpful pro shop staff. Loved the llamas!

This was my first time playing golf in North Carolina. The rolling hills are definitely something to get used to. The greens were like grease lightening! Make sure you don’t leave yourself above the hole. In fact, do not short side yourself either because you have some time Bermuda to navigate which can be humbling for many... Really enjoyed this round, would certainly play here regularly if I lived nearby.

This was always one of my favorites, but not to pleased today. Thanks to GolfPass, I played for free today, the guy that was partnered with me paid $100 plus! I am not sure how they can get people to pay that much, it is a $60 course at the max, in my opinion. Still a great place, but they need to be real about the price.

Great conditions, greens perfect, a little pricey, 5 hour round, waited every shot.

Fantastic shape. Greens were perfect as were the fairways. Very friendly and helpful staff.

This is our second year playing Talamore. We had 8 guys last year and 12 guys this year. Lorraine from Talamore Golf and Travel has been wonderful. The Talamore course is beautiful and always in great shape. The only negative is the staff in the Talamore clubhouse. Both years we have been less than impressed with their customer service. They always seem rushed and “put out” by us being there. If you can look past this, it was overall a great experience at Talamore. Will definitely be back next year.

I played today and really enjoyed this course. The greens are close to immaculate, fast and fair. Fairways are near perfect. Course has a lot of variety and some interesting challenges too.

We played the course for the first time a day after the Pinehurst area received about 2.5 inches of rain, so we moved up a tee box figuring the course would be playing longer. It still was extremely enjoyable.

I can't say enough good things about the course, the pro shop staff and the layout. The conditions of the tee boxes were better than some greens I play on back home! The elevation changes were great, too, making you really think about club selections. I felt guilty after we were done that we had gotten onto the course with a Hot Deal. The course was worth much more than we paid. We will be back.

I have played Talamore since they opened up in the early 90’s. The course has changed over the years but only for the better. It is more player friendly by being able to drive on all of the holes. They also have taken out a lot of the bunkers, but the ones they have on the holes are just in the right spots so beware. The greens were in great shape, and nice and fast which I like. Do not complain, just take a easy tap and they go. But do not play for the breaks because they are pretty straight. We will be back again.

Our foursome had wonderful round today. The course was well maintained and the staff was very accommodating. We will be back soon!!

From the attendant remembering my name to the fantastic pro, Tag, in the clubhouse to the wonderful layout, I always enjoy playing here. Eventhough the course had been aerated I still had a good time. Thanks, Talamore!!

Great layout and great conditions. Was busy at around 9am on a Friday but we were able to get off on #10 (split tee times) and had a good pace for a twosome. Looked for lamas on hole#14- saw two up near their shelter. Apparently the course no longer offers them for caddy services. Friendly staff. Good deal through Hot Deal- was 25% off the rack rate of $119. Would definitely play this course again.

Everything is very good with this course. Starter is a great guy. Only need would be a chipping practice area.
