About
The 500 Club (formerly known as Fox Den Country Club and Larkin Golf Club) is a premier entertainment destination for the Lake Norman region. This relaxed club with NASCAR roots provides a laid-back experience, quick pace of play, and plenty of entertainment to make it a destination. World-ranked Head Golf Professional and Assistant Professional offer private and group lessons and clinics. While the course is on the shorter side, the elevation changes and native grass areas make it challenging and strategic. Pace of play is the focus in every round so pick your tees by average driving distance, use the drop zones if needed, and play "Ready Golf" to keep your round moving. Starters, Rangers, and the Pro Shop staff will keep you well informed on any tips that might be useful for the day.

Great Course
Sadly it's slowly being ruined by the constant development in the area. Greens are still great! Rolling true
Solid course
Greens aren't overly fast (which I like) and the course is in pretty solid shape. Lots of different types of holes. Staff was great. Only issue was that they put a scramble off in front of us on number 14 and the rest of find took forever.
Enjoyable Round
Excellent playability for winter conditions. Smooth fast greens and firm fairways something that is rare lately given all the rain that has occurred
Can’t beat the price
Outstanding price performer. Course in great shape with excellent greens..
Some truly excellent holes.....10th hole remains a disappointment with shortened tee but that is a minor flaw.
Very enjoyable day
Larkin 20210306
I had driven past this course many times traveling up I-77. We decided to play the course and had a 11:50 tee time. Staff was very friendly in the pro shop and we teed off on time.
The course is definitely three different types of setups. The first five holes are not too difficult and gives you a chance to get your swing going. Holes 6 - 11 are like playing a mountain course and with a little course knowledge you will know where not to hit it. The holes 12 - 18 are just as advertised, like a beach type course. Make sure you get your tee shot on number 10 to the 150 marker. From there is it all carry to the green. This was definitely the most difficult hole on the course but it is fair.
The greens were in great shape. They held the shots and putted smooth. Pin placements were not tucked in places requiring precision shots but still offered some shot making.
Pace of play was good with us finishing right a four hours. The round was enjoyable and we will certainly keep this course on our list to play.
Any Round is a good round
This is a nice course with friendly staff and is always well maintained.
