About
The 500 Club (formerly known as Fox Den Country Club and Larkin Golf Club) is a premier entertainment destination for the Lake Norman region. This relaxed club with NASCAR roots provides a laid-back experience, quick pace of play, and plenty of entertainment to make it a destination. World-ranked Head Golf Professional and Assistant Professional offer private and group lessons and clinics. While the course is on the shorter side, the elevation changes and native grass areas make it challenging and strategic. Pace of play is the focus in every round so pick your tees by average driving distance, use the drop zones if needed, and play "Ready Golf" to keep your round moving. Starters, Rangers, and the Pro Shop staff will keep you well informed on any tips that might be useful for the day.

Book Directly with Course
I tried to cancel a reservation on a day it was raining and below freezing. I called the course and they said I needed to call GolfNow. I unknowingly booked a round here through GolfNow (looked like the course booking system) however it's not really GolfNow because my booking never showed up online. When you call the number in the confirmation email it goes into some survey limbo that you can't get past. It hangs up on you. When I called the number the course gave me, a recording said they weren't taking cancellations by phone anymore, I had to do it online. But my reservation didn't show up in the account, so I couldn't do that. So it's a perfect circle where I got taken for my money entirely. Unacceptable.
Larkin is Fun Course to Play
Played on Friday in late January and nearly 60 degrees. Course was very wet, but in good shape all around. The greens were very good, fast and smooth. Pace of play was excellent, less than 3.5 hours
Larkin
I like the course. A lot a variety from hole to hole. The course is challenging, but not difficult.
Excellent Conditions for Winter season
I have always liked the layout which presents a variety of easy and hard holes. Given we are in the middle of winter the course was very playable and the greens receptive and smooth
Nice Course
I was pleased with the course as it was my first time playing it. The pace of play was a little slow due to cart path only. The course offered some interesting challenges and I look forward to playing it again when conditions are more favorable.
Although Cart Path Only I enjoyed
This was my first time playing the course and to be cart path only, I enjoyed my round. Couple of the greens were frozen so my approach shots did not stick, they rolled off the greens. I carted a 92 as a result. I will definitely play it again and do recommend to others.
Larkin has really changed
Started with a 2 hour frost delay, some confusion on the first tee once play was ready to go. Course was sloppy wet everywhere. Greens were very good given the condition of freezing temps and super wet conditions. Pace of play was excellent. Rates are a little high compared to other courses in the area. This is still a very good course, although they have built dozens of houses where there once were none, this has dramatically changed the look of the course, and not for the better. Not sure how much more I will play this course at $45, there are dozens of very good courses within 30-40 minutes of this one for sub $40 rates.
