Great Course, Construction Sucks
Overall a fun course to play. The course conditions and greens were in good shape given the time of year, and I look forward to playing here again in the summer.
The bad thing about this course is a developer purchased the course and the surrounding land, so housing is being built and it takes away from the serenity of golf (for those of us out there to enjoy quiet). If it weren't for the construction, I would definitely play again sooner and more often.
One of the best courses in the area!
Always a good time at Larkin. Chilly day but the course was in great condition for this time of the year. Was able to get in 27 holes at a great pace.
Playing in February
With all the rain the course has received since December it’s in pretty good condition
A shell of its former self
This was a good course when it was Fox Den. Now there is no driving range and we couldn’t even get a hot dog to eat at the turn.
Apparently, they now have a Sunday brunch - but only a Sunday brunch and no other options. Seriously I don’t think I’ve ever been to a course where you couldn’t buy anything to eat.
The course has lost almost all of its character since they have chopped down all the trees and built houses everywhere.
Very disappointing.
A lot of soggy places
Course was in fair shape after some rain however a lot of places in the fairways do not drain very well leaving very soggy places , so you must try to pick the ball or you'll leave a very muddy divot . Greens are in excellent condition.
Good course
With all the rain the day before the course was in good shape
cool sunny day at Larkin
really enjoyed my round today. I went out as a single so you never know what to expect in terms of pace of play. There was a rather slow twosome in front of me. However, at the turn, I was able to join a threesome which slowed play down to a perfect pace. Three terrific guys who play together on a regular basis. They included me as if I were part of their group from the get go. Thank you guys. Happy Thanksgiving :-)
Challenging course, nice greens, construction cons
Liked the course, mix of long and up & down, greens in excellent shape, fairways a little long. Construction makes it difficult to navigate and wish it had a driving range.
Course in great shape.
A lot of home construction going on at this time which is distracting.
Great value
Larkin is always a great value for the money. The course is kept in great condition. The staff is very nice. It was a nice round without being overcrowded.
One of the best courses in the area
Have played here many times over the last few years. Always well maintained & a great value. Nice & somewhat challenging layout. Looking forward to the next round!
Great Course
Course was in great shape. Greens were perfect, staff very friendly. Will be playing there again when back in the area.
Value
For the money it’s a nice course. Wish the owners would put a little money into i.
Good Course, needs Ranger
I have played Larkin numerous time and very much enjoy the layout. But today on a very quiet day , myself and 2 other groups were stuck behind a very slow foursome, who refused to let anyone play thu. I finally skipped 2 holes to jump ahead of them. How about a Ranger pushing the pace???!
Great day
A perfect 77 degree day with very little wind made for an ideal experience. Considering all the rain Larkin GC has had these last 3-4 days and all the excavation going on (back nine) for all the new homes, the conditions of the course were very good. Greens were recently aerated so that’s going to impact putting. To be expected. The greens are going to be really nice in a week or so. Much needed repairs needed on the front nine bridge. I will certainly be back this year as I find Larkin to be a fun layout and tremendous value.
