The 500 Club (formerly known as Fox Den Country Club and Larkin Golf Club) is a premier entertainment destination for the Lake Norman region. This relaxed club with NASCAR roots provides a laid-back experience, quick pace of play, and plenty of entertainment to make it a destination. World-ranked Head Golf Professional and Assistant Professional offer private and group lessons and clinics. While the course is on the shorter side, the elevation changes and native grass areas make it challenging and strategic. Pace of play is the focus in every round so pick your tees by average driving distance, use the drop zones if needed, and play "Ready Golf" to keep your round moving. Starters, Rangers, and the Pro Shop staff will keep you well informed on any tips that might be useful for the day.

Interesting course
The layout is interesting! The fairways and greens are in good shape. It’s a hilly course, lots of construction, and weird access to various holes. All in all, it was fun.
Cart path
I know the surrounding land is being developed for houses but they still need to keep the cart paths up. The course is very good to sharpen your game.
Great Course for the money
This course is always a great course for the cost though the construction going on around is annoying very mature course with lots of challenging holes, greens are in great shape

Interesting layout
The course has an interesting layout. It's hilly, it has some fairly weird holes positions. Greens were in good shape; fairways were decent. Lots of construction that made for strange access to various holes. Had a fun round as I got partnered with some really cool guys! I'd play the course again.

Dont let the construction to the neighborhood bother u
I had a great experience but they weren't doing construction that day,so i could see where that would be dusty.The actual course is in great shape,apart from some of the cart paths and signage getting to the 1st tee and 10th and 18 to clubhouse.
Larkin
Father's Day, of course a little wait. Teed off at 4:30. Play Larkin 6-7 times a year. Course is always in excellent condition. Would recommend it to anyone. Western NC course so it has alot of elevation changes. Off I-40 or I-77. Staff is always top notch. Love this course.

Nice for the price!
Nice course well worth the drive up to Troutman from Charlotte. Fairways and greens are in excellent shape. First time back since hole #s 10 and 11 were back to normal from construction.
Only negative was we only saw the cart girl once. Stopped at the turn for drinks and snack shop wasn't open. Took some time to pay for snacks since we had to wait for golfers checking in at the pro shop.

Don't Miss This Gem in NC
Larkin has some of the best playing greens in the state. They hold your approach shots nicely and are as smooth as you can imagine. The ball rolls beautifully on them. Fairways are in great shape and the rough is not too thick. I've been playing here for 11 years (started when it had a different owner) and the staff is great. Not a fancy place at all but a wonderful value.

Course was amazing. There were four of us and our tee time was 7:27 AM. Course was in great shape, and have to say some of the best greens I have ever been on. They were fast, and held every approach, and you could really spin the ball out of the fairways. We will definitely be back, and I will tell anyone who wants to play a great course to go to the larkin.
Best course in the area!
I"ve played Larkin over a dozen times but it was in the best condition ever for this round. They finally have all the holes opened up & the course was in fabulous condition. Especially the greens. Can't wait to play again!

Great course ruined by construction
The course is a fun layout except #10. The whole experience is ruined by the construction.

Great course for the money
I’m from Pittsburgh and was here for the weekend. We played Larkin Golf Club for the first time and I was impressed. The minute we got out of the car, the cart staff had a cart waiting for us in the parking lot where he gave us some tips about the course. We were about 40 min early for our tee time do we hit some balls at the wedge rage (which were free) and pitted for a few min before we tees off. The course was in great shape and pace was awesome. No one behind us and no one in front of us for a hole or so. The course was in great shape and for the money was a fantastic bargain. We paid about $35 each for 18 and a cart, and the same experience back in Pittsburgh would cost me at least double. I would definitely recommend this course!
