Hospitality goes a long way
Drove 45 minutes to play this course for the first time. Upon arrival was met in the parking lot by staff with a cart, help load clubs and provided information to get oriented. Extremely polite, courteous, and helpful. Course was under major clean up from a storm the night before. Played the front nine and enjoyed every minute of it. Course is in great shape from tee to green. Greens slower that I like but I’m just a guest. This course doesn’t have a driving range only a chipping range which could use some work! no grill/food just drinks and snacks. This course has great potential. Will be back. Could not have ask to be treated any better.
Good value, not too busy, soft greens
I play this course a few times a year. Greens usually in good shape, but very soft this time. They seems to water during the day to keep them alive in the heat. Fairways are excellent. Most holes are good but there are two holes I hate...7 and 9 with forced carries to the fairway and blind greens. No driving range anymore. Hit into nets to warm up or hit wedges. No real snack bar or kitchen. New streets and houses being added make back 9 messy.
One of my favorites
This course has been in top shape all year long if you haven't played it you should
Great Course but Wet
The course was in great despite how wet it was. The greens are beautiful but very slow and long. They also plug on all shots and I mean. The course needs to dry out to be perfect. Definitely get a negative strike for no range or grill.
Nice round of evening golf. The course is in good shape. The greens were slow but receptive.
Best course for the money
Course did not have a driving range, but it's the best value for the money. The greens were a little slow but in great shape. Everything about this course is awesome one of my favorites
Great Value for a Challenging Course
Couldn't have been more pleased at what I found for the price. Surprising elevation changes for this area. First time playing here. I'll be back.
Great value for the price
This is one of the best hidden spots near Charlotte. Little bit of hike to get out there but that's what makes the pace of play and price so good! Probably my favorite course around!
Glad the course is back to regulation par 72!
Course is always is great shape. Challenging layout, a few gooney golf holes, but fun to play. They always have some of the best bent grass greens in the Charlotte area. I have NEVER seen this course in bad shape, and I have been playing it for fifteen years...
Great course and and value for the money!
This course is very fun to play. A cool layout with a lot of water on both the front and back nine. A lot of elevation changes, but not really any blind shots. Playing for the first time I definitely took advantage of the golf gps app on my phone and used my rangefinder to strategize where to play each shot. Everything was in good shape tee to green. Very few ball marks on the greens even though the greens are bent grass and very soft. It’s nice that people fix them.
Vacation Golf
We were in the area for vacation and found Larkin close to our home. Had a great time playing, not very busy during morning week day hours, and course was in good shape. Some easy holes and some challenging up/downhill holes, but they were fun! Very reasonably priced as well.
Great course always in top shape
My review for the course is great however for golf now not so much they keep moving local hot deals before 1230 so even VIPs can not use their value codes...going down hill
Holiday Help
Should have a cart person with snacks and drinks on this Holiday
All about the greens
This course is a gem in the making. The housing community being built around the course makes things a little confusing and they could use a better snack bar, but that is about all I can find wrong. The front nine was a bit more challenging than the back with what the locals call Devils Elbow holes 6-8 that are very unforgiving. By far the best part of this course is it’s greens. They roll at a good pace and are some of the truest greens I have putted. Not a ton of undulations so if you are a good to decent putter you can expect to make some putts, which always makes for a fun round. We played on a Thursday on a hot day so it wasn’t too busy our 4-some pace of play was under 5hrs counting a 30 min lunch break. Staff was very friendly, it would be nice to offer a yardage book to first time players, many other course will do that.
Interesting course
The layout is interesting! The fairways and greens are in good shape. It’s a hilly course, lots of construction, and weird access to various holes. All in all, it was fun.
Cart path
I know the surrounding land is being developed for houses but they still need to keep the cart paths up. The course is very good to sharpen your game.
Great Course for the money
This course is always a great course for the cost though the construction going on around is annoying very mature course with lots of challenging holes, greens are in great shape
Thank you for your 5-star rating! We appreciate your patience during the construction and hope it doesn't deter you from returning for another round soon. Thanks for playing Larkin Golf Club!
