The 500 Club

Three really distinct layouts for each six holes. First six are very pedestrian, farmland style holes, nothing to write home about. Second six holes get very hilly and provide some interesting shots up and downhill. The last six holes are fantastic, circling a lake and back in the woods. Awesome three finishing holes. For $25 on a Sunday afternoon, it was a steal and worth the drive from Charlotte. However, be aware there is no full range (wedges only), although there are nets to "warm up" in. The chipping green was also lacking. It's a good golf course, and not many other amenities to write home about. Definitely worth a drive to go play, though!

OVERALL: 7.1/10

Larkin (formerly Fox Den) is always a fun course. Lots of elevation changes with a good mix of left and right doglegs. Holes 10 and 11 still being renovated so current course plays par 70. Worth the trip and hard to beat the price.

Beautiful day on a fun layout. Fairways just now greening up but greens were very nice. Play was a little slow but I was a single. Will return.

Coming in well this spring. Greens are great and putt true. 10 and 11 will be better when the tees are open.

Just OK. Nice place. Adequate pro shop. Small snack area. Two holes were under repair. That should have been noted beforehand. Not really nice enough for club boys, but they had several and they gave quick attention. Lots of construction work in development.

A mixture of birdie and bogie holes if you are out of position. nice layout, and most of all is the staff. Always friendly and helpful . Great bang for your buck! !

We were greeted by two of the friendliest human beings on the planet. We felt at home from the second we arrived. The staff was excellent and warm. There is a great deal of construction on and around the course. Two holes, 9 and 10 were essentially half of their usual length. Lots of new homes are being built. The layout itself is interesting and varied. There are a few difficult few blind shots on the course. They are fun and challenging. The greens were fast and true. We are going to make this a regular stop on our drive to and from Florida. We just loved this place. Stop here and treat yourself to some southern hospitality.

Course was in great shape and whole staff very friendly and helpful. Holes 10 and 11 still being effected by construction but did not effect our enjoyment at all! Can’t wait to go back to play this course again.

As good of conditions tee to green of any course in the area, at any price.

i love the lay out i played it a year ago and was hoping they were further along with the construction but unfortunately they were not. they had just punched the greens and like most places they don't tell you. i really look forward to playing it in good condition because i feel it has lots of potential.

Value,course conditions and staff are great. Don't miss a good round of golf.

Course still recovering from housing development but the core is still good. Wish something could be done to establish a more robust driving range. But always a fun layout with great greens. Good course to test your driving and wedge skills.

It’s nice to be able to golf in NC the day after Christmas.Course is in great shape!

The greens were the best I have seen them. 10 & 11 are open but still not complete, currently playing as a par 3 and short par 4. Card still shows the old 10 & 11.
