The 500 Club (formerly known as Fox Den Country Club and Larkin Golf Club) is a premier entertainment destination for the Lake Norman region. This relaxed club with NASCAR roots provides a laid-back experience, quick pace of play, and plenty of entertainment to make it a destination. World-ranked Head Golf Professional and Assistant Professional offer private and group lessons and clinics. Pace of play is the focus in every round so pick your tees by average driving distance, use the drop zones if needed, and play "Ready Golf" to keep your round moving. Starters, Rangers, and the Pro Shop staff will keep you well informed on any tips that might be useful for the day.

potential
the course has great potential and will be a top course when construction is complete. I will play again but will wait a year.
Certainly an unexpected surprise
We were a bit confused, when we got to the 3rd hole and experienced the dramatic elevation change. The feel of this course is one of a mountain venue. The greens were also recently aerated, so when the greens fully mature this monster of a course will definately be considered one of the nicest around. The community is still a work in progress, which means the course is still in the comstrucion phase. The is no number 10 hole, so this is only playing as a 17 hole par 66 course. Overall experience was a positive one, but there is an extreme amount of growing left for this course and I look forward to returning and see how much better the potential can be.
Great value
Fun times at Larkin yesterday. Can't wait to come back and play the course in warmer weather. Nice layout, super friendly staff.
Good Value
An excellent first impression is created when a cart is brought to your car and bag assistance rendered. Staff throughout the experience (including F&B) maintained a high standard of friendliness and service.
The course itself was somewhat less impressive but is still a solid layout that's just a bit "rough around the edges".
Larkin aka Fox Den
greens were smooth but fast. we didnt know it was only 17 holes at the time til we paid and got a scorecard. #10 is gone temporarily due to construction and their driving range is gone...they have a small driving range but im assuming its for short irons only. #11, the par 5 is now a par 3...so the total was a par 66 for the course. we prob would not have played there until all the holes are open. which they said would be middle of summer. we will go play again this yr once the whole course is open. other than that it isnt a bad course.
Nice but...
Course has a great layout greens are in great shape but there are several holes under construction which takes away from the beauty of the course. However the price made up for it and I had a great plain partner
Greens and weather were great!
Been playing this track since it opened. Haven't been back for couple of years because of all the building going on. Can;t believe they took out #10 and half of 11. Hope they get it back to normal soon. FYI- not a fan of the greeters . The 17 greens were rolling great!
Larkin
Good condition, 17 holes open. Fairways and grass brown form winter, ball sits up nicely. Greens in great condition. With abnormally warm winter temperatures any course wil be crowded and weekend also. Met a friendly threesome and joined up. Play this course 3-4 times a month. Staff always friendly and cart guys are to your vehicle to load you up. Understand that the closed 10th hole is to reopen early summer. A great course to play.
Beautiful Sunday and it drew out lots of people to play. That's a good thing, but the staff wasn't quite prepared for that and as a result they sent too many singles out earlier and ran out of carts for some of the afternoon teetimes. Because of the crowds pace of play was slow as expected. Beverage cart girl was friendly and covering the course well. Greens were nice. Fairways were very good for mid February. Overall a fun time but the pace of play did start to take its toll and we did not finish. A skilled and experienced Ranger probably could have helped some but bottom line when it's 75° in February there's not much you can do about the crowd. Stretching the teetimes to 12 or 14 minutes apart may have helped.
Best 16.5 hole course around!
In all seriousness the course conditions are in excellent shape, but only having 16 full holes and a modified par 5 that has been chopped to a par 3 makes the total round less than 5 star. If you don't care about getting all 18 for your money, this is the course. I would recommend trading parking lot staff for a ranger to support a faster pace of play. This has always been my grip about the course, usually one group holding up the entire course.
Good course layout
Always enjoy playing here. Staff is awesome. Conditions were good considering we just had over 4 inches of snow melt. Greens were in good shape and still rolled well. Would of gotten a 5 star rating but hole 10 is not playable due to housing construction. Hole 11 has been converted into a temporary par 3. I feel rated should be lowered just a bit due to that fact. But will definitely be back
Great course
I have played Larkin for a while now. Great course, great conditions, etc
Greens were in Great Shape
Premium on hitting the fairway, although the rough wasn't very high it was difficult to play out of as it should be. The greens were some of the best i have played in this area. The only drawback, due to construction hole 10 is closed and hole 11 a par 5 being played as a par 3.
16. 5 out of 18 stars
Great course in very good condition. Only problem is it's currently only 16.5 holes. #10 is closed and #11 is a par 5 converted into a makeshift par 3. Sadly, it looks like it will be quite a while before it returns to a full 18.
Fantastic Course and a Great Rate
This is very nice course, good condition, friendly staff and very enjoyable day of golf
Rangers rude and course only as 17 holes because of construction.
My group ended up as a group of 5. There was no reason we could not play with 5 as we only saw one other group of players on the course and that was a twosome in front of us. The rangers (3 of them) ganged up on us on the second hole where we did all end up on the green. Par 3 hole. They then continued to check on us throughout he course. The rudeness was just in the way they talked to us. It was not necessary. All they needed to be worried about was speed of play, which was not an issue. Course only has 17 holes because of construction. Should have been noted when t-time was made.
GKs review
This course could be outstanding beautiful layout and very testing wasn't told was only 17 holes really only 16 if you consider they had turned a par four into a par three also I booked a tee time on golf now when arrived was told there was a tournament going on and we would have to play behind them very slow greens were in terrible shape hadn't been cut very bumpy and oh so slow they even had grass growing up in them. Summary if they get their act together this could be a primo layout
garyrkanipe1 - We apologize that you did not see that we are currently 17 holes. We have posted this message on our Booking Engine. We are sorry to hear that we did not exceed your expectations. We would like to speak with you further regarding your experience. please email us at LarkinGC@outlook.com.
We look forward to hearing from you.
check before you commit to play
Course condition was very poor. Greens were soft and very bumpy. Bunkers need to be aerated or sand added. One could lose a ball in first cut (semi rough).
prior to playing staff did not advise that the 10th hole and half of 11th hole was not playable due to reconstruction - this also meant the driving range was also ripped up.
Agree with u342062739's comment. Played there Monday, September 5, 2016. Greens were bumpy and not good as they used to be. Also, course is now only 17 holes and no driving range with the 11th hole now converted to a step uphill 150-180 yard par 3. They are building houses on the old range and #10. SAD to see and to rub salt in the wound, still charging the regular rates for "16 1/2" holes. Best of luck Fox Den and thanks for the memories #anothercourseoffthelist #cltpublicgolfispoor
