The 500 Club

My group ended up as a group of 5. There was no reason we could not play with 5 as we only saw one other group of players on the course and that was a twosome in front of us. The rangers (3 of them) ganged up on us on the second hole where we did all end up on the green. Par 3 hole. They then continued to check on us throughout he course. The rudeness was just in the way they talked to us. It was not necessary. All they needed to be worried about was speed of play, which was not an issue. Course only has 17 holes because of construction. Should have been noted when t-time was made.

This course could be outstanding beautiful layout and very testing wasn't told was only 17 holes really only 16 if you consider they had turned a par four into a par three also I booked a tee time on golf now when arrived was told there was a tournament going on and we would have to play behind them very slow greens were in terrible shape hadn't been cut very bumpy and oh so slow they even had grass growing up in them. Summary if they get their act together this could be a primo layout

Course condition was very poor. Greens were soft and very bumpy. Bunkers need to be aerated or sand added. One could lose a ball in first cut (semi rough).

prior to playing staff did not advise that the 10th hole and half of 11th hole was not playable due to reconstruction - this also meant the driving range was also ripped up.

The staff and service are first class.The course is in better shape than most in the area,greens are a little slow but I guess they are being left a little longer to prevent burning.Note to players though please repair your ball marks !!!

This was the first time that I played this course. I got a Hot Deal on GolfNow and was paired with three other golfers. The course is well laid out and the conditions were very good. The tee boxes and fairways were in excellent shape. The greens had some ball marks and the rough was a little long. There is some nice elevation on some of the holes making the round fun compared to more flat courses in the area. Although none of the holes were extremely tricky, each one was unique. The one downside was that we had to wait on almost every hole on the back nine as the pace of several foursomes ahead of us slowed down on a very hot day. All in all it was a great afternoon of golf.

Enjoyed the course. Everyone was very nice. In great shape. Greens rolled well but had a lot of ball marks but that is not the courses' fault.

The course is undergoing some renovations. The fairways were amazing!! The Bermuda rough was a challenge to get out of.

Beautiful course, immaculate condition, beautiful surroundings. . Play challenging but fun and can score. Nice flow from tee to greens. Staff was incredible. Customer service to the highest. Every staff member was professional and courteous ! Tony ( starter ) was especially nice as was the beverage cart girl. I look forward to coming back as much as possible! Wonderful day of golf !

Friend and I played Larkin with a Hot Deal from Golfnow and Wow ! What a great day! Course is in beautiful condition. Staff is the friendliest around. Pace was ok. I played well. We were paired with another couple of guys who turned out to be good players and nice folks. Overall this was a super day of golf ! I have played here many times....always a good experience. The new owners are doing a first rate job and will surely continue to succeed because they know how to treat their customer. You can't do much better than playin Larkin right away !

The vent greens were in pretty good shape even though they weren't fast. It's summer and expected. The fairways have come in nicely as well. I'm just not a fan of the design. Hole #7 should be demolished - a 270 yard carry from the back tees to ~20 paces of fairway, where anything left or right is dead. It's a horrible hole. Several other holes are below average on the course.

Course in great condition. Greens were some of the best I've played this year.

Best greens around right now for public courses.

This was my first time playing this course since the new ownership/name change. The staff was very friendly from the pro shop to the parking lot staff to the starter to the snack bar. I played on a Saturday afternoon and was paired up with another single. I didn't use the driving range, but the putting green was in great shape. The course itself presents great challenges from the start. Most courses ease you into the round, but #1 is a tough way to begin a round. The par 3 downhill 5th hole is a great vista, and maybe the course's signature hole. I am not a fan of the 6th hole, a 'z' shaped par 5 that forces a layup off the tee, and provides little area to land the second shot. There is a lot more elevation change on the front nine than the back. Holes 12-15 play out to I-77 on a flood plain and around a lake. The greens were in great shape. There weren't excessive ball marks or any bare spots. The tee boxes were also in good shape. Fairways are coming in nicely as the Bermuda begins to take hold. I paid $23 for a Saturday afternoon tee time, which I thought was more than fair.

It was our first trip to Larkin. We had a foursome scheduled at 12:20pm, the staff made sure we started in time. They were very helpful, when we got there, we were met in the parking lot with out cart and the gentleman loaded our bags and stapped them down for us. A very nice way to start the day. The course is layed out perfect, very good mixture of par 5s, 4s and 3s. Some holes are challenging, while others are more straight forward. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone else.

This is a great course, the layout offers three very distinct styles, links, stadium, and mountain. We played on 3/1/16 and for the time of year the course was in very good shape, especially the greens, much faster then expected. Very good value for the price, highly recommend, we'll definitely be back.
