About
The 500 Club (formerly known as Fox Den Country Club and Larkin Golf Club) is a premier entertainment destination for the Lake Norman region. This relaxed club with NASCAR roots provides a laid-back experience, quick pace of play, and plenty of entertainment to make it a destination. World-ranked Head Golf Professional and Assistant Professional offer private and group lessons and clinics. While the course is on the shorter side, the elevation changes and native grass areas make it challenging and strategic. Pace of play is the focus in every round so pick your tees by average driving distance, use the drop zones if needed, and play "Ready Golf" to keep your round moving. Starters, Rangers, and the Pro Shop staff will keep you well informed on any tips that might be useful for the day.

course is very challenging
would play again need have ranger so people fix divots on greens
Challenging Holes
Very nice course, well maintained, great staff. Will return to course when possible.
Great value
Only had time for 9 but the front nine is picturesque and difficult after you get past the first 2-3 holes cutting through suburbia. Some tight driving holes with decent length from the tips. Great value with golf now.
disappointing
Very disappointed. Course had aerated recently and was not informed. Back 9 closed due to aeration and again no info on web site when booking tee time. 5 holes of boring golf, 3 good holes of challenging golf but #9 par 4 very unfair. Very difficult to get a good lie from tee shot. 2nd shot unable to get to green and fairway slopes severely right to left. Shot hit to edge of right side rolled into woods on left. On second 9 I hit farther to right and landed in rough leaving me a shot either over tall tree or under tree. Impossible to get in position to attempt par. Wish I could comment on back 9 but probably will not return.
front 9 was closed.
front 9 was closed . so i had to play the back 9 twice .
Nice lay out with interesting hole designs.
Enjoyable course with nice hole designs. Conditions were very good but for the greens. The greens suffered from inattentive players who didn't repair the ball marks. This is no fault of the staff. Fairways were nicely groomed. Rough was a challenge without being fatally penal. Layout is open so small errors in ball flight won't kill your score.
Nice place, great for the price. I will return when I am in the area.
Great course.
All around great course. Very informed and cordial starter. Excellent clubhouse facilities. Found a great rate on golf now for 27 bucks on a Sunday. This course has a few actual par 5's for thebombers. Greens and fairways are some of the best in the area. Similar to the Warrior but thicker rough areas. Driving range backsup to #1 so dont hit it left.
Beautiful course
Great course with a beautiful landscape and a well-maintained condition. I recommend it.
Always in good shape and fun to play.
The course as usual is in good condition. The bent grass greens are well maintained and soft. The rough is thick for the most part. Hitting fairways and greens are critical to score at all. Bunkers could use some care. Great value for the money overall. Fun course to play.
Different look for this area
As close to mountain golf as you'll get in this area. The course is fun to play. An exercise in club selection.!!
Great for all the rain
Course drains extremely well and has fair but fun holes. I thoroughly enjoyed the course.
With all of the rain we have had lately, Foxden is in great shape.
Great course for the money value. I'm just getting started playing golf again and played from the white tees. Challenging for me and a lot of fun. Look forward to playing more and backing up to the blue tees.
Reasonably Dry in light of heavy recent rains
Good layout in excellent condition. White tees just over 6,000 yards, plays longer. Would be great test from back tees.
Excellent greens...
Nice Layout
Even with all the rain lately the course still played great. It drains well and greens were rolling fast. Really love the layout and how two par 5s really challenge you off the tee to get home in 2.
This is a great course
The course is always in great shape and the staff at the club is awesome. The starter went through all the tough holes before teeing off which was great for the guys that had never played the course in the past. This is definitely one course that will be put on the top of my list to play in the future.
Good greens, course was wet but can't blame the course.
Over-all, a very nice track. Was wet so cart paths were necessary. Can only imagine when dry conditions return, greens will be very fast and true. Fairways in good shape as well as tees. The rough was thick so stay on the short stuff. Will return.
Good Choice
This course gets very challanging after the first 5 holes and require you to play true golf shots for distance and accuracy. Course may have been over booked because of the slow play. Spent Fathers Day with my son so had no issue waiting. Some of the best Bermuba greens I have ever played on and very true.
Front nine is hilly..back nine is in a valley...beautiful!
The course is mostly open and fun...there are two long holes that go up and down and are blind shots, like a links course ..other then that it's very fun.
I've played here before and the course is in great shape and this is the best value for a course of this caliber anywhere that I play
I play 2 times a week and I've played here probably 6 times I play the Jackson Course and have played the Jones course at Rock Barn they are both good courses but I prefer the Jackson it just fits me better and I also like Brushy Mountian
Tough little course
A very undulating course overall; lots of hills and slopes and not too many flat lies. You have to layup on most par 5's unless you're driving 280 and or can hit your 3-5 wood long and straight. Par 4's are longer and most of my second shots were around 150-170 out. Par 3's were the easiest part of the course I think. Greens were beautiful, very soft, and had good speed. If you're not in the fairway; you're in trouble on this course as you can lose your ball in the first cut because it drops down into this grass. Forget about getting a good shot on the ball! Overall very nice course if you want to be challenged. I will go again!
