About
The 500 Club (formerly known as Fox Den Country Club and Larkin Golf Club) is a premier entertainment destination for the Lake Norman region. This relaxed club with NASCAR roots provides a laid-back experience, quick pace of play, and plenty of entertainment to make it a destination. World-ranked Head Golf Professional and Assistant Professional offer private and group lessons and clinics. While the course is on the shorter side, the elevation changes and native grass areas make it challenging and strategic. Pace of play is the focus in every round so pick your tees by average driving distance, use the drop zones if needed, and play "Ready Golf" to keep your round moving. Starters, Rangers, and the Pro Shop staff will keep you well informed on any tips that might be useful for the day.

Good layout and conditions, no staff anywhere
Larkin is a nice local course, challenging and fun. I played on a Friday and the course was backed up with groups. There is never any staff member on the course moving play along. I fully understand the poor rating for amenities, there are none.

Course in good shape lots of fun too play all holes are different from easy to hard. Have a nice round.
Great time @ the course
I had a great time. The course was in very good shape, the staff was friendly, and the pace of play was excellent.
I would recommend this course to others regardless of their particular skill. There are holes that are straight forward, and some that are challenging.

Everything about the place was spot on!!! Great play. Course beautiful challenging but doable. Daughter hadn’t played in almost 10 years Did great! Thanxxxxx everyone.
Good value for the money
Another great round at Larkin. Staff is always friendly and the course layout makes you choose clubs wisely.
Best Course so far.
For a beginner, I've tried about 13 courses. This was one of the few that kept the course in pristine condition. Very challenging for a beginner, but pushes you to only get better.
Nice layout
Larkin has a very nice layout and so very challenging holes. They had punched agreeance probably a couple of weeks before which was a little bit of an issue. The real issue was charging $45 on a weekday with the greens not being totally ready. I won't go back there
Amazing experience
Up from Dallas and from the moment I stepped out of my car to when I finished ..first rate experience. Great layout and in top notch condition.
Will play again
1st time playing the course very entertaining layout. Definitely will be back. Not that big on amenities.
Bent greens, and green Bermuda fairways
Great course if you want to play piedmont golf, mountain golf and Florida golf all in one round. 6 hole of each will challenge your handicap.
Larkin
Course was in good shape. Several challenging holes but a great layout. I like the layout of both open holes and shot making holes. Could have better yardage markers especially on blind tee shot holes.
Nice track
Nice course in good condition overall. Greens rolled nice and were a manageable speed. Friendly staff. The course had a lot of variety in the different holes...water, various significant elevation changes, trees and open more links holes....fun.
Only downside.....being a walker....is that it was not walker friendly, winding through a development with significant distance between holes....riding is nice occasionally.
