The 500 Club
About
The 500 Club (formerly known as Fox Den Country Club and Larkin Golf Club) is a premier entertainment destination for the Lake Norman region. This relaxed club with NASCAR roots provides a laid-back experience, quick pace of play, and plenty of entertainment to make it a destination. World-ranked Head Golf Professional and Assistant Professional offer private and group lessons and clinics. While the course is on the shorter side, the elevation changes and native grass areas make it challenging and strategic. Pace of play is the focus in every round so pick your tees by average driving distance, use the drop zones if needed, and play "Ready Golf" to keep your round moving. Starters, Rangers, and the Pro Shop staff will keep you well informed on any tips that might be useful for the day.

Nice course. Loved the hills. For mid November the greens were in great shape.
The course is in very good condition, fairways firm and the greens are receptive. Staff personnel were very helpful, carts are clean and most of the cart paths are in good condition. I look forward to playing Larkin Golf Club again soon.
Underwhelming
A good, though sometimes quirky, layout that needs better maintenance to justify its rate. As well, the pro shop staff just seems disinterested.

Course was a little rough, but still enjoyable. I will come back
Excellent course
Love Larkin. Beautiful course, excellent condition
Course in Good Shape
The fairway and greens are in good shape. I was surprised the course was empty. I played my round just under 3 hours. Nice
Larkin
Club house sucks, no driving range, bad practice green. Course it’s self isn’t bad, every green has a million balls marks, you’ll have to fix them to putt on your line. Greens were soft so you could aim at pins all day long. Might have just been the day, but groups In front of us played so slow and we’re dropping balls to hit another shot all day long when they shanked 1 in the woods. Not to mention they read puts like they were on tour to 3 jack ever green. I can’t say I would go back and play this course for a while.
Very nice course
Tough and great course. Will continue to play on Larkin.
Senior play
1st few holes in new community. From there on wooded, scenic and well laid out. A challenge for mostly all levels. Read the course book on each hole or you’ll be in trouble. Our first time here great time will return.
Not sure why this place is in the to 20
The course was in good shape and fun to play overall. The greens were ok a little sandy and rolled mostly true, The one thing that lets this place down was the clubhouse. The place looks old and had a funky smell. The pro shop is in the basement and not sure if that contributes to the smell. There was a small chipping practice area and but they had no ball to use that day as I was told someone had hit them in the woods. This is the first time that I had to walk a range area to collect practice balls to use to warm up.
Mountain Golf at least 6 holes
The course was well maintained. It was very challenging due to the six holes where you needed mountain climbing equipment to assist LOL. The restrooms were locked and we ended up only playing 9 holes because we found out the back 9 were cart path only due to a storm the day before and the course wasn't dried out.
Return trip imminent
Despite the greens being aerated the course was in great shape. There was a fair amount of challenging holes, coupled with holes where you can get away with an errant shot. I definitely will be returning.
aerated greens. Not much you can do about that.
Aerated greens, which is all part of golf.Would be nice if golfers would fix their ball marks on the greens.
